You know, this really should be something published by The Onion. Unfortunately, it's not satire.

Can you get any stupider than this?

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2012/06/28/supreme-court-health-care-move-to-canada_n_1634157.html?1340896836

Many Americans who were upset at the Supreme Court decision took to Twitter to voice their anger. Weirdly enough, many Americans tweeted about 'moving to Canada' to escape socialized medicine.

"I'm moving to Canada, the United States is entirely too socialist," tweets @wallyweldon.

"The supreme court upheld Obama Care. That's it. I'm moving to Canada!," tweets @lucasdargis.

Of course, Canada is no stranger to socialized medicine, with some provinces having universal coverage as early as the 1950s.

In fact, Canada's universal health care is one of the things that Canadians can agree on.

Winterapple -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 9:24:05 AM)

Car insurance is a state power not a federal power.
I think there might be some federal laws
pertaining to commercial vehicles.

Federal law always trumps state law
doesn't it? The federal government
could prevent a state from enacting
a law it deems unconstitutional, yes?
Does any state have the power to make
laws that are unconstitutional?

Laws requiring people to have auto
insurance have helped the consumer
because the insurance companies compete
with one another and premiums get
lowered. Wouldn't consumers seeking
health coverage reap similar benefits?

mnottertail -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 9:28:03 AM)

It was made clear that this is not a commerce clause issue but one of the power of taxation as defiend by the constitution.

Car insurance got nothing in common with this.

Winterapple -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 9:28:08 AM)

Their moving to Canada which has universal healthcare
to escape Obamacare?[8|] A nation full of lunatics.

DaddySatyr -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 9:32:45 AM)

First off, there is only two states that don't have compulsory car insurance. In both states the prices are incredibly lower.

Once you pass a law requiring people to have something, the one-percenters that PPLs claim to detest know that they can raise prices because people must purchase their product.

Second of all: people who don't wish to pay car insurance have options. There are no options for people who don't wish to purchase President O'Failure's new "Big Brother Getting Into Private Industry" product. Their choices are: Pay us, pay us or go to jail.

That is a socialist's version of liberty.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

The one positive to this unconstitutional piece of crap is that SCOTUS has finally forced a clear consise policy statement from one of the baffoons running for office.

Gov. Romney has stated that he would strike down the law (ostensibly through executive order) his first day in office, should he get elected. "Obamacare was bad policy, yesterday and it's bad policy, today."

One of the baffoons just won my vote.

Peace and comfort,

Did you know that the mandate was Romney`s idea?

Oh...never mind.

NH is the only one since June of 2010 that doesnt have it I know.

Tell me the other and provide the tables of the rates, cuz that looks like some real bullshit at first blush.

There was a republican president, house and senate and they invaded a country under false pretenses, thats what they did, instead of presenting a bill on single payer universal health care.

The REPUBLICANS own TWO UNFUNDED WARS, AN UNFUNDED DRUG PLAN, AND UNFUNDED TAX CUTS FOR THEIR FRIENDS.

Hearing Republicans talk about fiscal responsibility is like hearing kosher jews talk about bacon.

Winterapple -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 9:48:31 AM)

Only in that the vast majority of Americans purchase car insurance for reasons both
legal and practical and benefit from it.

I know the taxation aspect makes
them different beasts but the reasons
federal law could look approvingly on
both aren't that far apart.
And yes no one is required to drive a
car and car accidents involve property
damage but consumers benefit from
the laws that require auto insurance.

The taxpayer will benefit from health
coverage that can provide preventive
care over emergency room care.
Taxpayers are paying for the emergency
room care of people who can't afford
to go to the doctor when they're sick.
The tit the uninsured are on now is a
bigger money drain than the new tit.

Winterapple -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 9:55:35 AM)

I should say consumers and society as a whole benefits
from laws requiring drivers to have some sort
of auto insurance.
People and society will also benefit from
the Affordable Health Care Act.

joether -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 10:01:22 AM)

Oh look....ANOTHER....thread of conservatives bitching about a law they know nothing about, beyond that which their conservative masters have told them. Its funny the number of conservatives I've run into today that have NO IDEA what is actually *IN* the actual bill. They have given just a crap load of falsehoods that make me wonder where they got their information from! Seriously, why not get your facts straight, study up on what the actual bill does and doesnt do for America, BEFORE, opening your mouth and spewing forth moronic statements.

Its a good idea to have health care coverage even if your healthy and fit. Many illnesses can strike 'out of the blue' that can leave healthy and fit adults crippled or worst. Its just complete foolishness to assume that since one is outwardly healthy nothing is wrong internally. How many of you conservatives are actually medical doctors? Or have the equipment for your personal use to check your body every day for any of the few billion of conditions that can befall the human body? That is what the ACA sought to do. Make sure everyone had some level of health coverage. They did it in Massachusetts and the results have been very good so far.

Your tax on breathing just went through the roof

Its called the individual mandate tax

Further, government now has justification to try to micromanage your behavior. "We have to control health care costs, after all..."

Someone please tell me which tax would go up.  My income is low enough that i don't even have to file Federal income taxes.

FR:
Does this whole "I'm from the government and I'm here to help" thing of the late Raygun's apply to those Americans who traded arms to terrorists for, or is it just a put down for stuff that's actually kept on the books and isn't in breach of both American and International law?

No, he said he would work to repeal it. That could make years.

Moonhead -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 10:23:39 AM)

It certainly took long enough to get the fucking thing read into law in the first place. Repealing it shouldn't be any faster...
