Would you happen to have a cite for that?

According to this: http://personalinsure.about.com/cs/vehicleratings/a/blautominimum.htm
Liability insurance is required in every state. Failure to carry liability insurance can end up with a person jailed.

Obama won this round guys, no use whining about it... It can be reversed come January if the conservatives win in November.

Lets see now, We have a liberal nany state mentality like Europe, Anybody who can see lightning and hear thunder qualifies for assistance, we are kind and feed the poor like Europe, We house the homeless like Europe, and now we have national healthcare like europe! Wait a minute. why the hell are we bankrupt like Europe?????

How are we bankrupt? Debt is $15.8 trillion; so is GDP. We have $188 trillion in assets.

Even then, we're in debt because we threw out the revenue strategy that was working in favor of unfunded tax cuts and wars.

mnottertail -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 11:38:04 AM)

no, the uninsured motorist is if you get hit by someone who is uninsured, your policy covers the whatever it covers just like theirs should have.  not all people obey the laws. It covers the insurance company, more or less.

costs maybe 10 bucks or so for the bigstaters, don't know, I think mine is $2.50 a year (yup, decimal is in the right place.)

Where do you get this ignorant shit?

Further, government now has justification to try to micromanage your behavior. "We have to control health care costs, after all..."

You won't get anywhere with this, anyway, Sanity. Liberals believe Big Brother should control everything from the cradle-to-the-grave, anyway.

They're the "submissives" of the political spectrum.

Peace and comfort,

....and that comment is coming from the cuckolds of the wealthy and big corporations,.... that if u just keep giving them everything they demand eventually the wealthy will unlock their balls.....which at the current rate will be about the year 250,000.
They figure that they should be able to sell u a defective cradle and if u manage to be put in the grave because of it ...thats too bad...ur parents should of checked to see how many 1000's of other kids died in the same way, and none of u should be able to sue them about it.

Now, let's get down to the brass tacks:

I live in New Brunswick, NJ. I drive about 20,000 between work and pleasure (I use my car to get to clients). I have NO accidents, NO tickets, and I don't drink. I pay $636 every six months for car insurance. What would I pay in NH?

The last time I looked, it was less than $300 (and I think that might have even been for the year).

Peace and comfort,

Michael

You live in an urban state and NH is a very rural state. That is the difference. It has nothing to do with whether insurace is mandatory in NH, which it is for all intents.

Basically the acturial tables say someone driving in NJ is more likely to file a claim than one in NH so your rates are higher.

Musicmystery -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 12:36:52 PM)

NH also has incredibly high property taxes.

Is that why I would pay less in Birmingham Abalama, too? No? I didn't think so. Let's forget insurance (as I said, earlier) and look at anything that is mandated. Let's do motorcycle helmets:

NJ: Required. Cheapest DOT approved helmet I've been able to find: $120

PA: Not required. I've seen them as low as $55

But, you're right. Requiring that people MUST have something doesn't give the producers/sellers the idea to raise the prices. There's no greed in America.

The fact is: once something is required the producers/retailers/importers know that they have a built in market and all they're fighting for is market share . The market is ready-made for them by Big Brother.

When I retire and open up my luthier shop, I hope I can find some socialist piece of shit president to pass a law requiring everyone to own a stringed instrument.

Next! PLEASE!

Peace and comfort,

Michael

mnottertail -> RE: OBAAMS FUCKED (6/28/2012 12:48:47 PM)

I doubt we will ever have a socialist president in this country.

There's no understanding of economics either.

As in increased demand. Or as in the door's open there for competition, if it's just greed.

And, of course, there's no chance the unapproved helmets are cheap because they're not as effective--no one would compromise safety for greed in America, right???

Yes, people in AL pay less for insurance despite it being mandated because the state is more rural and thus less likely to file claims.

As to helmets compare the identical helmet and you'll find prices are comparable.

Sidenote: I believe in most states that require helmet use it's illegal to ride with a helmet that isn't DOT approved. Also, I believe DOT requirements only rate helmets for a 5 mph crash. Basically, there isn't much safety involved over 5 mph anyway but there sure is a market for DOT approved helmets.

Yep, Obama cares so much he's willing to give the poor free health insurance by taxing the middle class... The ones who can't afford to pay the penalty.

The only tax on the middle class is the one in your mind. Give us a citation, hey.
