Of course. No one's getting a morphine renewal. But a decongestant or a routine anti-inflammatory, they'll do 6 months. Anything routine I think--blood pressure medicine, stuff like that.

Come to that, has Limpdick pissed off to Cuba yet, or was he full of it as well?

I thought he was going to Costa Rica. Yaknow, that place that has socialized medicine.

I thought he was only going for medical care if he got sick. I don't remember him ever suggesting he was going to move.

@subrob,

"Bullshit, I personally know a guy who just had an $80,000 pacemaker, the surgery, including Doctors fees, tests, anesthesia, and over night hospital stay completely written off by a hospital. I know for a fact that this happened, because I helped him obtain the information the hospital's financial aid office asked for. Since October of 11, he's racked up close to $200,000 in medical bills, that have been written off... His final cost? $140, or less than one weeks worth of unemployment benefits. "

Sorry, there is no such thing as FREE! You will be paying for your buddy in one way or the other. Who pays for public health care? Who pays for the increase in hospital costs, because your buddy doesn't have insurance? Who pays into Medicaid? Have you ever seen Medicaid costs go down?

Free....Nope, sorry there, it simply doesn't happen, but we wouldn't want a plan in place to deal with such issues, it would go against your dislike of the maker of the policy now wouldn't it?

What a Foolish way of thinking!

You are simply clueless as to the costs involved in the system as it sits!

But the interesting part of this is that, what works for you, works for you, and doesn't for me, but you're perfectly fine with shoving your way of doing it down my throat. But I'd expect nothing less from liberals (which interestingly enough is a ironic term for people who generally want to dictate what others can do and take what others have worked hard to earn.)

Let me see if I understand you, if you are poor and cannot afford health care, you are not to do anything like go to the ER or a doctor.

That sure sounds like the typical republican idea that the poor or lower middle class that dont have health insurance dont need medical care.

Nope, you don't understand me... Perhaps it was the clear English I typed, or your bias.

I said the reason medical costs are so high is because the poor ARE treated, and the cost is passed on to the rest of us, which I clearly said, I don't mind paying... That is called CHOICE, which is what FREEDOM brings... Under the ACA, all freedom is lost because I either have to carry mandated insurance, or pay a tax... Tell me, do you really believe that having to pay a tax because you DIDN'T buy something is fair? Oh that's right, your poor and disabled, so you don't have to pay the tax... The gubbamint will provide for you... Who's being selfish here?

I never said the poor shouldn't seek treatment, and I didn't say those who don't have medical insurance shouldn't seek care... Both of those statements are a figment of your imagination, based or your extremely misguided opinion of conservatives.

Actually, you have made it quite clear, as has the senate minority leader, that the poor in America do not deserve health care.

Well I suppose it is clear to those who chose not to read his words and instead apply your own twisted reality to the mix. It must really suck living with all that hate inside.

The only thing I have "bad" is a love of liberty. If you have a problem with that, eat your own cookie. Then we can pay for your type 2 diabetes on your public health care program. I'll stick to the organic vegetables thanks.

Thanks, that is what I thought he said

"On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh backed out of his promise to leave the country and move to Costa Rica if health care reform passed. Limbaugh said that he never said that he was going to move there but that, “Once all this gets implemented, I am going there for my health care.”"

Maybe they were confusing him with Barbra Striesand and the other liberal actors who were going to leave the country when Bush was elected.

Not sure what the point was. Why would anyone give a fuck if they moved or not.

If your way worked for everyone, there wouldn't be a problem
Healthcare is something everyone needs at some point or another...
As it doesn't work for those who cant afford it, do you have a better plan? or are you arguing that it works for every one?
If the US system is the best in the world why aren't other countries doing it ?
rhetorical questions I may add, so there is no need to respond.

Wishful thinking, I guess. You have to admit that he wasn't exactly clear initially.

And the Religious Right doesn't do exactly the same thing?

First, Rush Limbaugh is a fat tub of lard and I personally detest the man.

I shouldn't have to pay for the shortcomings of others, nor their lack of financial intelligence, proper planning or otherwise.

If you strip out the mandatory requirements and make it a collective base for better competitive rates, I'd have no problem with it at all. It then becomes a choice one can make depending on their personal situation. Group rates usually get a discount, but making them blanket it over the entire nation from cradle to grave is extreme and unwarranted. It's also not in the spirit of liberty which our forefathers in the U.S. fought and died for. Bad financial policy has had its hand in the rising costs of most everything in the U.S. and the policy has been something put forward by both parties. I'm not making a partisan statement on that. I've been vehemently against the wars, the outrageous spending in the military, and many other policies my nation has taken such a liking too.

If the dollar hadn't been consistently weakened, health care like everything else wouldn't be such an issue. But tracing back the decisions that led us to this point can demonstrate the bad policy from both parties. Nixon took us off the gold standard completely in 1972. Carter allowed AB pension plans to no longer be fully vested. And on and on it has gone...both parties adding bad policy on top of bad policy.

So if I had a better option, I would start with financial policy first. To do that requires reducing the deficit and opting out of some of the bad decisions like Free Trade Agreements that already exist. Manufacturing sorely needs to return to U.S. soil.

It's already a fact that social security is bleeding out more money than it is taking in. Adding this "solution" only speeds the process.

So much of what is happening can be clearly illustrated as ineffective and even destructive by simply looking at Japan and the former Soviet Union, both of which have had protracted recessions, periods of hyperinflation and the like.

Clinton did one thing during his presidency that I really liked a lot, and that was line item veto. It was a shame it was rescinded at the end of his 2nd term.

For those who think this health care plan is such a slap for big businesses, it makes insurance mandatory which is actually quite the increase in profits for the insurance companies.

I don't agree with most everything the religious right has to say. I find them pompous, hypocritical and usually wrong in their judgement.

As soon as the discussion is "You Liberals" and personal attacks, the argument is over for lack of argument.

I grow organic fruits and vegetables. I'm set, thanks.
