Absolutly correct I went to a historically black college. If they tried to refuse entry the would be subject to discrimination lawsuits, I know because the one I went to lost a lawsuit based soley on the fact that the student body was only 5% white.

It's a little late to be blaming Reagen now is what we need to worry about 14% black unemployment includes more than 25% unemployment among black youth this means the economy is terrible and the very people the President vowed to help have been hit with the hardest burden. When they get jobs it will not be the end of it, these same people will then be the newest workers low end of the scale (due to lack of seniority) and most vulnerable to layoffs(same reason) It will take years for this to fix itself, we have to get the economy moving, it could be worse is not the answer.

[sm=writing.gif] I am a very selective reader, every now and then I will read 2 or 3 comments on threads like that, than run away like hell!!! I actually miss a lot of the drama, by choice! [;)] I only have so much time and energy, why beat dead horses or bang your head against break walls? My main dog in this fight, is to attempt to enlighten or voice my opinion, on how Black people are being disproportionately destroyed by the current economic climate. Many of my "liberal" buds on here, don't realize it, refuse to accept or acknowledge it, and feel everything is just fine. I have started threads about how the Black Middle Class is basically being wiped out, and is losing many of the gains made during the last 50 years. Anytime the economy is bad, Black people normally are going to be hit the hardest. Many liberals just can't grasp that FACT, Lana. Sometimes, I just like to stir the pot! [sm=idea.gif]

Do stagflation and malaise ring a bell, both under Carter. Neither party is perfect which is why we need to fix today rather than set back and argue about the 70s economy.
