I'm not too afraid of jumping into water, from a reasonable height of course, like a pool deck.
However, the silliest fear I have is water related. I am terrified of overflowing toilets.
Maybe one day, someone will hynpotize me and I'll discover where this came from.

The exploding toilet. Sigh. SO much practice in that area.

My irrational fear: being trapped in a car in water. Living in an area where there are many lakes near roads, I have it under control, but it's one of those things I had to develop a Strategy for.

Laughing, true... but I find that a lot of times, people get in the way of what they seek. Not that I would know shit about that. Nope. Not at all.

Not irrational at all. I live close to a lot of canals. The "guard rails" work if the vehicle is crawling at a snail's pace. Every week there's news reports about cars in the canals here.

I have a fear of tunnels and bridges. My ex-husband knew that, and still decided to take a scenic route north from Fla to NY. Yuppers: the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel/Bridge route. And it was shortly before a tropical storm hit. Water sloshing on the roadway, made for a white knuckle ride. (Did I mention I had major cramps & was nauseous to start?) There's a reason there's an "ex" in front of husband.

Florida has also increased my fear of spiders.

ETA: One of about 40 spiders "hanging around the mall here. I think it's a golden orb spider? Ickles.

I forget which beach park I was at, but forty feet overhead were these huge orb webs, with hand sized weavers plunk in the middle.

1-How strange-I'm rereading "It" as we speak.
2-Slugs absolutely freak me out, nasty, slimy, can be cut in 1/2 and still live, can only be killed by salt. Gross

bridges. I hate heights and if I try to cross a bridge i start to freak out.

rodents. Blech...nasty, dirty creatures that spread disease.

Getting fat and ugly. I know why. It's part of my past with health problems that I don't wish to ever ever ever repeat.

uuummm......Master? hehehe

Oh yeah...that too. Love love love the beach. Like wading my feet in the water. Otherwise I hate oceans, lakes, ponds.

My top 3 are..

Going blind (So far 4 people by the age of 50 in my family...)
Alzheimer's (I've watched 3 relatives "live" with it and it's horrific.)
Not being able to get home in time when my grandpa passes away.

You can cut the head of a cockroach and it will still live around 2 weeks till death from starvation!

Swimming in deep, deep water.

I can do "out of my depth" type water... I can do any water where I can see the bottom, I can even do water that's pretty deep. But a couple of years ago I was sailing with a bunch of pals from Lisbon in Portugal to the UK - which took us across the bay of Biscay, and we were well out of sight of land when the wind died - Lovely hot day, so we all decided to go for a swim. I was ok for a bit, but then the sensation that there was a mile of water between me and the bottom began to feel very very weird.

You just creeped me out, crazyml. Actually, I guess you could say I have the same fear. I know what lives in those waters, and it's hard not to think about!

I'm creeping myself out by re-reading it.

I'm going to have a quick bath.

A nice shallow one.

An irrational fear of mine is tripping and not being able to stop myself from smashing my teeth out on pavement. Well, maybe it's a healthy fear, but I don't know why I think about it relatively often. Eww!
