CRYPTICLXVI -> RE: When is a guy short? (7/29/2012 6:42:01 PM)

So feeling the general consensus is this... at least I know where I stand on my tip toes at.

If I could build my ideal man, physically, he would be 6' tall, and able to throw my fat ass around like a ragdoll.

That said, I am 5'6", and my ex was 5'8". It was a most awesome relationship for 15 years. Too bad we stayed together for 20 years!

So, I am saying if someone captures my mind, I don't care how tall they are. I just don't wanna feel like I will hurt them if I ride em like crazy yanno!

MistressDarkArt -> RE: When is a guy short? (7/29/2012 7:07:26 PM)

This thread reminds me of a date/crew search I had a long time ago before online and digital cameras. I lived on my sailboat, and was down below in the aft cabin getting ready when I heard 'Hello, I'm here!' INSIDE the boat. I hadn't felt anyone stepping aboard. I went into the saloon to see a huge bouquet of yellow daffodils on the companionway ladder and not much else. Peeking around them, there he was...all 3'6", perhaps 80 lbs. of him. He was a dwarf.

'I know how to please a woman,' was the next thing he said.

'Hello. Thank you for the flowers. I have anchors bigger than you are and I need someone to work the foredeck. Sorry to have wasted your time.'

THAT was too short!

Master likes that he can envelope me with his arms and body. And I have to say, it's comforting. [:)]

PiratesAhoy -> RE: When is a guy short? (7/29/2012 11:11:01 PM)

I'm 5'4, so anything taller than that is good.

My ex-Best Friend had a thing for shorter guys. Though she's 5'8, and her last BF was 5'4. So, yeah.

peppermint -> RE: When is a guy short? (7/29/2012 11:38:57 PM)

I don't like tall men. I prefer shorter men. My first husband was 5'6. Gary is 5'3" (he used to be taller but he's shrunk a bit over the years). I once dated a guy, just one time who was 6'. I just didn't like it. I've never met a man shorter than I am so not sure what too short might be for me. I'm 5'1".

I'm sure that within your, pug like, boy/man body
lurks the heart of a lion!?

Jokes! This thread wasn't suppose to be a short
bashing exercise, I was just curious about hights
stuff seeing as it was popping up a bit in that
Female turnoffs thread.

MDA... Not even a big bunch of yellow daffodils
could make you give the poor guy a chance?
Thats cold, Ice. Cold. [sm=flowers.gif]

For perspective, I am a submissive female, 5'6" tall.

Non-subjectively, a man's short when he's below average height for men; he's tall when he's above average height for men.

That being said, my Master is 6'3" and I'm always around him and his family (all similar height to him) so to me, a man pretty much looks short if he's under 6'.

I like masculine, thus I like tall and I like big. I like feeling small. It makes me feel safe and protected and just...vulnerable to him, and I like that, it's important to me. I like that I have to stand on my tip-toes and he has to bend his head down for us to kiss. I like disappearing into his arms and my head resting right on his chest when he hugs me. We both love it.

That "small feeling" doesn't really happen for me with people under 6', so I would say anything under 6' is "too short" for me. I don't know what I would consider "too tall."

yep, that's what i like too. looking up to him, and him looking down at me. being against his chest when he holds me too. the thing is, i'm not a small girl either so short and slim is going to make me feel huge when i feel too big already. tall and slim is great though because i still feel smaller than he is.

My daughter is like that. She likes shorter guys, usually her height of 5'1" or a few inches taller but no more. She said she doesn't like having to look up to him. She likes to have equal footing. Her boyfriend isn't really tall...not sure what his height is though. She likes the short, gangly, nerdy type of boy lol.

A more objective measure would be a man is short when he is more than one standard deviation below average height for men.

I'm really surprised at how many short women are saying they also don't date men who are short. I always assumed that women just want guys who are a couple inches taller than them but don't really care how much more.
It must really suck to be a 5'5" guy if even 5'3" women consider you too short.

I'm 5'2"
Yes. It does suck.
It sucks that many women won't even bother to get to know me first on the "vanilla" dating sites when they see my height (and somehow....they think it makes it better to tell me that it's why they aren't interested...gee. thanks). They can't look beyond a number--Sucks for them because I'm a lot of fun to hang out with.

Such is life, better luck next time on the karmic wheel for me.
Life is too short (no pun intended) to waste on people who care more about appearance than substance.

kitkat105 -> RE: When is a guy short? (7/30/2012 9:39:53 PM)

I'm 5'9", submissive and definitely prefer guys taller than me. Sir is taller than me, but has no problem with me wearing heels...

twistedlink -> RE: When is a guy short? (7/31/2012 12:12:26 AM)

Quote from a lady on a vanilla dating site regarding height: "C'mon people, EVOLVE!"

Two of the sexiest women I have every known were 5'0 and 95 lbs, and 5'10 and 260 lbs. I really don't care if a woman is 4'8 or 6'8, there are just too many more important considerations. Weight's not an issue for me, although I prefer that a lady has a feminine shape. That can be lost if someone is excessively large or small, but again, other considerations take precedence. As others here have pointed out, there are advantages to all body shapes/sizes.

I'll never understand why height and weight remain an issue, or race for that matter. Sexy comes in every shape, size and color.

littlewonder -> RE: When is a guy short? (7/31/2012 1:22:13 AM)

because there's this little thing that people have called preference. Not everyone finds the same thing attractive and I kinda cringe when I hear someone say they have no preferences. It makes me think that basically, anyone is game, anyone will do.

I'll agree with that 100%. My only problem is that when a male (not me, the masochist Im playing with now is a round lil thing) expresses a PREFERENCE (theres that word again) for slender ladies, the screeching harridans come out.

That's why I made the post I did really early in this thread.

littlewonder -> RE: When is a guy short? (7/31/2012 6:15:42 AM)

well I'm not one of them. I have a preference for tall, lean men. Master has a thing for short, skinny girls. It's our preferences. To each their own imo.

sunshinemiss -> RE: When is a guy short? (7/31/2012 7:15:19 AM)

Too tall is when it hurts to hug him because of neck strain. Too short? ummmm. Normal leg/torso proportions (whatever they are - I'm sure there is an equation somewhere) is more important to me than the overall height of a man. I too am short (157 cm / 5'2" if my conversions are correct) and have dated men shorter than me. Doesn't bother me a bit. Perhaps too short is when it's more comfortable for my hand to be in the "over" position when holding hands... or when he can't see over my shoulder when we are dancing. I don't like to run into others...

I gotta agree with you 100% Hill. I am amazed at the angry fat chicks that are everywhere. It is kinda like "OK, you can't hate me because I am fat, but I can hate you because you aint".

Everyone has preferences. I am so ballsy, that even I, a fat chick, have them!!!!! Getting pissy over someones elses preferences just screams insecurity to me.

Now, if someone says "I prefer skinny chicks, and you fat sows should all be put to death", then I am gonna kick him in the balls. And, lemme tell ya, I can kick good for a fat old broad!

needlesandpins -> RE: When is a guy short? (7/31/2012 8:01:00 AM)

the thing with weight guys is this, it's something you can do something about most of the time. or like me you were always skinny until health problems hit, and then you're not. there was nothing i could do about my weight, and i still struggle now to try and control it. now what worries me about people who bang on about wanting the skinny person is what if s/he puts weight on?

do you suddenly stop loving someone just because they put weight on? or if you like the larger person, what if they lose weight?

where as, with height you are what you are. there is nothing you can do about it. weight is a much more superficial preference than height in that respect. i like my guys to be slim to athletic, but if a guy i loved put weight on i wouldn't stop loving him for it.
