ORIGINAL: farglebargle He wasn't even 'going to college' or anything. He was just wandering around harassing people about their religious choices being inferior to his crazy beliefs. http://maddowblog.msnbc.com/_news/2012/06/06/12085094-the-war-romney-longed-for?lite quote:
In 1965, as an undergraduate at Stanford, Romney not only supported the war in Vietnam, he participated in pro-war protests. That same year, he sought and received his first deferment. Absolutely love how Clinton's draft dodging was mentioned in passing. Amazing ya'all can overlook that stuff when there's a D behind the name. Romney got 4 deferments, including school, and a 41 month missionary deferment (mission work isn't an uncommon event in a Mormon's life). I have also noticed that no one has questioned farglebargle's initial sentence with the quoted portion. quote:
"He wasn't even 'going to college' ... quote:
In 1965, as an undergraduate at Stanford, Romney not only supported the war in Vietnam, he participated in pro-war protests. That same year, he sought and received his first deferment. How was he an Undergraduate and not "going to school" or anything? How many of you extolled the virtues of John Kerry, who not only ran on his military experience, but was also guilty of protesting against the war he gained the experience he was proud of? Let's not forget that Sen. Kerry's organization used a communist banner under which the good senator marched while still a reserve officer in the United States Navy (I believe that was a court martial offense, at the time). God bless his little pinko heart. Also, thank you for reposting the erroneous quote. I would have caught it, had I been able to see it. Yes, it's true, the left has this amazing ability to spin anything they wish to suit their flavor (of shit) of the (campaign) season. It's interesting that Governor Romney engaged in a protest against an anti-war protest. He did not engage in a pro-war protest. I think that bears some distinction but that's another subtle nuance that the lefties will ignore and twist to their benefit (as we have evidence of here). It's kind of like me, protesting against the labor union that wants to march down "Main Street" because I'm pissed off at the delays it causes me, getting to work. It's not that I am against fair wages, etc. It's that their protest is interfering with my life. Maybe Mitt Romney (he wasn't yet elected to anything) was protesting the fact that the long hairs were disrupting classes? It doesn't matter. The lefties will lie about it until it fits their political agenda. Peace and comfort, Michael Edited for proper quotations of all things!
