If I am obeying someone in an intimate sense, it is because it makes us both hot.

In a broader sense, I don't consider myself obeying someone, rather that I ask their opinion and then make my own decisions. I don't blindly do anything just because I am submissive and is the Dominant.

But then again, I am not a submissive person by nature; only by being with someone who makes me feel that way.

I am also one of those people who feel relief when relinquishing control.

In the only D/s relationship I've had, I thought I obeyed because I was in love. Recently I got involved in an online D/s "something" with a man who lives far away whom I've "met" only via messaging. I obey him too! And it's because obeying satisfies a need inside me that is too new to my awareness to define yet. And like Athena says, it's very arousing to obey. Admittedly, love greatly intensifies that, when you're lucky enough to have it.

Not intrusive at all. Yes, I suffer from anxiety and clinical depression which is most likely the reason why I like obeying and being a slave. I've always been very aware of that reason. It makes it easier to shut my brain off since it's usually running overtime 24/7. It's like lifting a huge boulder off of my brain lol.

My thought when I read the question by the OP is "wtf is this idiot on??".

Why you ask? It is a dom/sub relationship. Why do you think poeple obey? one has a need to be in control, the other has a need to be told what to do etc. Its not rocket science.
