lilmissdefiant -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 1:38:58 AM)

As i am as small as they come (Legally) 4ft3 and 54 lbs, i cop a lot of shit because of my size (not just height wise)
Its more than just public opinion too.
I like being thin and skinny, I have no objections to those who have that fully curved look about them either.

However having said that when i go shopping for underwear it is almost impossible to find my size, I'm a size 4 (not exactly proud of that either) but i do fit nicely into a size 6. but even with myself having to go up a size for underwear is a struggle because my local shops have fuckall in the way of size 6 things which is very frustrating for me. When i go to see a close friend of mine i do like to dress "provocatively" for him and i don't like him seeing the same style over and over again.
My point here is that its more than just public opinion that needs to change, its also retailers in general. I don't like the fact that stores and shops are catering to those who have bigger sizes than me by phasing out the smaller sizes. yes i understand that there are people so are sizes bigger than me (i certainly hope so anyway) but I shouldn't have to be stuck with boring underwear because the women around me are bigger.
tiny women need to be catered to as well

Thaz -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 2:00:07 AM)

I've asked about this.

Its damn hard to find nice clothes for either extreme. And very very trying for the smaller woman to be wearing stuff from the kiddie racks. One underwear designer I spoke to mentioned that plus size stuff sold well but they had been accused of encouraging pedophila when they asked about doing some of their designs in smaller sizes. Thats a mountain to climb right there.

lilmissdefiant -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 2:07:29 AM)

which extremely frustrating, especially for me

that's saying because I'm 4ft3 I promote pedophilia its absolutely discriminatory!
Its like saying large women promote beastiality, its a load of shit!
Society has become more "accepting" (and I'm using that word extremely loosely) of "larger" women (again loosely) why can't it be accepting on the other end of the scale?

Thaz -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 2:13:13 AM)

Agreed. Larger girls can get stuff. Its hard and often far from cheap.

However ironically by NOT selling for the ...er minus size? market they ARE encouraging you gals to dress like kids...as thats all that fits!!!!

My local sex shop sells sexy underwear. They can order in plus size but I bet they cant get minus. The school uniform shop next door however sells school girl outfits they would fit just fine...... (and yes the local self apointed moral minority have already had a hissy fit about the two being next to each other).

if retailers saw this from a logical point of view they would provide smaller sizes for women like me (I wouldn't have a problem if they even asked for ID)

abeauty4Dickhead -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 2:32:54 AM)

While I have a personal preference toward "bigger" girls, that is only one facet of them. I see a person.... not a size or number on a scale when I am meeting someone. I was a bigger woman that at one point got up to 353 pounds. Although I have lost 150 of it, because of how I am built, I am still considered fat, plus size, whatever. Society has discriminated against larger people for decades and it is still the only "legal" discrimination. You cant be denied employment and numerous other parts of every day life (housing etc) because of race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation. But you can for being "fat". Women of size had been shunned for years by the fashion industry making it difficult to decent clothing. Almost as if the muu muu for someone over 200 pounds was a mandatory uniform. That is slowly changing.

I am still the same person now as I was at 353 and when I was 145. I recently had an incident at a mall here. My husband and I were looking around and I stopped to go to the restroom. 2 girls that had been following us came up to my husband and started dissing on me saying that he could do so much better and if he wanted to try a real woman out and not a fat cow to give them a call. Really? As a general rule of thumb, I don't start out by commenting on someone's size. But, having said that, I am not going to curl up and die or run home for a pint of Ben and Jerry's and cry all night if someone does. If you can dish it out, you had best be able to take it.

Bottom line is that no one should "judge" someone without knowing them. Yes, bigger girls sometimes retort about a skinny girls size because they initiated it by commenting on her weight. There are just as many "bigger" girls who are beautiful not because of their outter appearance but because of who they are as a person. By the same token, there are women society deems as "beautiful" or ideal that are total bitches. I was always raised under the philosophy of "judge not lest ye be judged". I think a lot of things in this world could be resolved if we ALL remembered that and lived by it.

hello op

I wrote before on this subject and I am sorry youi feel this way but! Women whom at heavy get so much, hell from 'strangers
family and others!

Thise models do not eat they are not normally thin, they are sick and only look like boys! it is not good to see young teens
to think it is ok to be a size 2 or 0 to make it in this world!

I do not know where this happen at, but no one should be attack just for being whom they are!

I was anorexia I eat a lettuce leaf = skinny to the bone, no breast no hips only bones and dry skin!

I live only one one piece of anything that was fast and did not need to be chew much!

It is a crime for model agency's to only pick the bones of the bunch, I read a postg that said "model are the hanger for clothes" it is not the exact phrase but
it is close!

I seen the models walk down the runway and you can see there hip bones, collar bones and no chest at all, they smoke like crazy to kill their
eating cravings, throwing up the list goes on and on!

No one hate skinny models or anyone women who is a walking "time bomb"!

It can and will kill a person, I know I am lucky my heart is okay!

I am a size that has curves and soft skin, hips and a backside I love it is all about what you think of yourself, if you have no confidence
with in you no one will love you if you do not love yourself first , and that is if you any size!

Good luck dear!

mons

As I said before abeauty4Dickhead, its not just public opinion that needs to change, its the retailers.
Because they are enforcing this unwanted stereotype

ETA because i can't spell

Thaz -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 2:39:25 AM)

Well I guess it's more risk adverse from the makers point of view.

if you offer plus size at a premium then where's the harm?
if you get slapped with a reputation of encouraging illegal activity....wellllll thats a whole can of worms most manifacturers dont want to go near. Certainly thats what I got told when I asked an associate that hand makes underwear.

However although my Wench can buy dresses that fit her now (having lost 60 odd pounds) as with most larger girls end up ordering underwear online (as lets face it very large girls mostly avoid changing rooms and condescending sales girls even if you can find something that fits) and there are a few resources out there for you small girls as well. http://www.knowknockers.co.uk/ seems to sell actual secy kit for the smaller frame for example.

littlewonder -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 2:42:00 AM)

when I was a size 0 about 6 years ago, I shopped in the youth clothing, size 12 or 14. Just something to think about if you have a difficult time finding clothing. A lot of the girls' clothing these days are not much different from women's clothing in design.

lilmissdefiant -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 2:44:29 AM)

clothes in general i have little problem with, as there are some "adult style" clothes out there, its mainly underwear i have an issue with

Unfortunately for you, retailers see it from the profitable point of view. You are tiny. And as adult females go, tiny is rare, particularly in comparison to those plus size, so my guess is that the market just isn't there to make a profit for women your size. If there were more of your body type out there, it's likely the retailers would follow suit with making clothing available. Have you looked at online retailers that specialize in petite lingerie and such?

lilmissdefiant -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 2:53:09 AM)

I have but like with most things in my life I'm very picky (personality trait my owner loves/hates)
but when it comes to lingerie I just want the same variety most other women have.

abeauty4Dickhead -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 3:06:11 AM)

I agree lilmissdefiant. My sister in law is Filipino and she is 4 ft 9 and about 80 pounds. While she can find clothing in the Philippines, Japan and most asian countries, she has a difficult time here.

lilmissdefiant -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 3:20:19 AM)

My mother just got back from Thailand, she managed to buy me a pair of high heels, but they still need to be altered to fit me. it really is insane.

Do you think people are offended by skinny people, too?

I don't know about "offended", NV. I do find them creepy and disgusting though. I was walking home tonight and saw one of them and I know a look of disgust crossed my face for a moment.

*eta: not that I'm proud of that... I'm not.

But I will say this - I was asked recently to NOT go dancing with a group because they are embarassed because I'm fat (yeah... I am even though I've lost 40 pounds recently. I'm still a big girl. Size 14 is big, right?). I realized that the "eww, gross" feeling I had tonight about this gal and the bones of hers that I saw was probably how most Asians see me.

And we foreign gals can get fuck all here in Asia. At least the smaller women can have things altered.

abeauty4Dickhead -> RE: Too much hate for slim girlies. (8/19/2012 4:05:25 AM)

@sunshinemiss... my comment was the fact that as Asian women tend to be on the smaller side. They are naturally petite and thinner so it would only make sense that most designers catering to that clientele would design their clothing in smaller sizes. When i was in Japan, I couldn't find anything there that would fit me. I am 5 ft 11 and I was 350 pounds. Thank goodness for eBay! My husband, being a larger man as well, had a difficult time buying clothing too. Most of the mens shoes only went up to a 9 and most waists stopped at 34. I had a few things custom made while I was there but generally if it werent for the internet I wouldn't have had much to wear at all.
