Assuming Hilary Clinton runs for President in 2008, does anybody think she'll win?

NO, If Kerry couldn't win, Hilary will certainly not be able to get the States that he couldn't. She is way to liberal.

Will she not have the whole feminist community behind her?

Thinking about Hillary Clinton as the next President........ guess I'm going to have to put off eating breakfast a little longer now.

I think Clinton is another Democrat that is not Dem enough or clearly behind her/his ideals enough to gather a solid majority of Democrat/liberal voters.

The Repubs have the clearest, focused, jingoist blurb. Easily voiced. Even if I think it is crap.

The Dems/libs are unfocused. And too often humiliating themselves and their followers by stooping to Repub/right stuff. Though I feel they are the lesser of, sadly only two evils.

Dems need some slogans. And  when they find them, need to shout them like they mean them. In unison.

Unfortunately not.......Hey I like Hillary, woman's got HOOTSPA.....But no she couldn't win and besides it is time to get new blood into the White House, I mean come on I saw a report on The Sunday Morning Show this past Sunday.  The one commentary I saw was talking about a Clinton/Bush "dynasty"  And it went like this....

4 yrs Bush
8 yrs Clinton
8 yrs Bush
8 yrs Clinton
8 yrs Bush

You get the idea.....then the comedian/commentator went on to say that in 2024 Chelsea would marry George P Bush and they would make the White House the first republicrat administration.....

We need a candidate that is going to stop listening to the lobbyists and special interest groups and START listening to the people, the way the Constitution was written.....this includes congress and senate........Unfortunately, a candidate such as I speak of will not be found in my lifetime........so it will be another election in '08 where we have to choose the lesser of two evils.

I just hope one of the "evil" choices is Joe Biden maybe with Hillary as his VP choice...other wise, I will choose when I get into the voting booth again this time.........

Looking at America from the outside, Hilary would be a damn good choise. After all Bill was just the front man last time she was in office

Unfortunatly she hasn't got his charisma but she does have a sound head on her shoulders and won't screw your econemy into the ground like a Bush clone does and importantly doesn't think she has some 'god given messianic crusaide' adgenda whereby she fucks off (and over) the majority of the rest of the planet!

No, her "messianic crusade agenda" only applies to us here ...... here's a pic of her channeling demons as she was working on getting elected to the Senate as a stepping stone to higher orifice, I mean, office. Poor Bill

Looks more like her reaction to Bill offering her a 'cigar'

LOL Raven, yes, it could have been that too. I don't hate her as some do, but I honestly can think of a number of much better canidates on both sides of the politcal spectrum.

From Europe Hillary doesn't look bad. Can anyone explain why she is seen as the angel from hell to quite a lot of reasonable Americans? I can understand why she is disliked by right wingers and christian fundementalists.

Hmm. Meatcleaver, there are all sorts of reasons I suppose..... she's seen as an enabler and apologist for Bill, she's seen as strident, as an uber-feminist, some hate her It Takes A Village world-view, some disliked how she ran for Senate in New York simply to get a stepping stone for the Presidency, and she has been known to play the race card (as do many others of both parties).

The part there that makes me laugh is 'appologist for Bill'... OK he fucked up by doing something behind his wifes back.... My views on that kind of behaviour is rather well known, but other than that it doesn't make him much diffrent than rather a large percentage of people.... So the guy is human *Shock horror*

Can't speak about the perception of him from inside America, but from the outside I will say he came across as being the best president you guys have had for many decades! (OK actualy SHE came across as the best president you guys have had with him playing the charismatic front man). The rest.... shit dude, thats just politics for ya!

Yes, he isn't the only one to screw around on his partner (something I take a dim view on as well), but he lied (and lied, and lied) about it to the public (just like Newt Gingrich did lol), and that left a bad taste in some's mouth, so to speak LOL. For what it's worth, I hated the whole impeachment rigamarole over it.

I agree, Raven, I think much good happened while he was in office, but I suspect Hillary would not bring similar results if she were to find herself behind the big desk. I could be wrong.... probably not, but it's possible .

It rather sounds like she suffers from people's perception of politicians being out for themselves rather than out for their constituents. Carpet bagging is seen as something of a political crime here too.

It is strange how we people who are interested in politics complain of other people not looking at the issues before making their decision about a politician while being just as guilty of choosing by perception.

I know I have often voted on an emotional level rather than on the arguments put forward by a politician on certain issues, simply because I don't trust a certain politician without having any proof they are untrustworthy.

She's far too centrist for my taste. This country needs an overhaul, not four more years of corporate cock sucking.
