He didn't, Tazzy. He started out with a very nice 68% approval rating. Then he demonstrated that he wasn't up to it.

Of for fucks sake ,who walked away from the Grand Bargain for fear he couldn't get his side,ie:the tea baggers,to go along ?

This bullshit meme that because the right would not work with Obama is proof that Obama can not work with others is so dammed tired,it's weak and it is ineffectual.
Once Obama is re-elected the sane on the right will realize there is no other option but reigning in their loons and getting on with governing the country.
To vote otherwise,in reaction to this threat from the right,is to give in to political extortion which will only breed more extortion.
The left is certainly watching how this plays out,and would be emboldened to follow this game plan should it work for the right.....how does such a future look to any decent American...perpetual political gridlock unless and until one extreme or the other has total control of the levers.

The hysterically funny thing about that line is the way that the Kenyan spent most of his first three years in office fawning and grovelling to the Republicans to try to get them to co-operate to no avail at all. The ACA is a case in point isn't it? The main reason it's such a fucking joke is because he chucked out all of the content that they weren't having (such as the single payer provision that might have made it worthwhile) and was still treated by the Republican half of Congress like he'd proposed to dig up their grandmothers for dog food.
As far as "playing nice" goes, we didn't see half as much obstructivism from the Democrats towards the Chimp as we've had from the GOP over the last four years, so that one's more than a little ridiculous. Not so much confirmation bias in this case as the sort of ideological blinkers you normally never see anybody sporting outside of a religious group...

In Detroit, home of one party rule for 60 years, there isn't much more to burn or tear down. Maybe they can take a run at the liquor stores and throw their obamaphones in the blaze!

Another irrelevant question,latest polling from NBC news and The Wall Street Journal,the President enjoys a 48 to 47 % lead in the popular vote while Ohio and Iowa look like comfortable leads....meaning the EC map math is unmistakable [:D]
