Obamaphobe petitions
quote:

Peacefully grant the State of //Fill in the blank// to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government.

We the people of the great state of //Fill in the blank// , do see that in today's world the Federal Government has not led our citizens justly and with honor. We therefore as free men and women of our great state do believe that it is time to take matter upon ourselves to ensure our continued freedom, and to enact our own laws and here buy govern ourselves without the federal government's involvement in our internal matters from this day forward.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Benjamin Franklin: 1775

Virginia Republicans Call for Armed Revolution if Obama Wins in November
quote:

During the healthcare reform debate, angry teabaggers cited Jefferson’s line that “a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing,” as proof that revolution against government tyranny was advocated by a Founding Father as an option in 2009, and that sentiment has not diminished three years later heading into a general election. The groups claiming President Obama is a tyrannical leader have never given one example of tyranny, but they, with the GOP’s assistance, have whipped themselves into frenzy and openly called for armed insurrection against the United States government. One may be inclined to excuse talk of rebellion as angry rhetoric from a fringe element in the tea party, but a Virginia Republican Committee newsletter has called for armed revolution if President Obama is re-elected in November...

According to the newsletter, President Obama, is a “political socialist ideologue unlike anything world history has ever witnessed or recognized,” and that the only option is “armed revolution should we fail with the power of the vote in November:” If one is confused as to what Republicans consider is a “political socialist ideologue,” the newsletter claims President Obama “shuns biblical praise, handicaps economic ability, disrespects the honor of earned military might,” and that under Obama, “the government is out of control, and this opportunity, must not be forsaken for we shall not have any coarse (sic) but armed revolution.”...

All of the threats of armed revolution have as their basis one simple fact; the President is not a white man...The truth is that it does not matter which white man should be president, it just cannot be an African American, and if voters elect President Obama to a second term, they are seriously considering an armed rebellion.

Clayman4fire:
If there were a [civil] war the military would not side with Obama after the fiasco with our ambassador and leaving the American contingent hanging. The military has a code of conduct and support their own when in harms way. They look with contempt upon individuals or agencies who sit on their hands while good men take action and die and later make excuses for ineptness or political expediencies.

The primary stupidity, IMO, of the petitioners and also those who have spoken wistfully of an actual armed "revolution" is their mistaken belief that the majority of the American people agree with them and the majority of the American people (to include all the members of the actice duty United States military) would join them or support them.

The majority of Hispanic voters, for example, voted to re-elect President Obama. Do the Obamaphobe "revolutionaries" or Obamaphobe secessionists honestly believe that these Hispanic voters would not defend their homes and their country from Obamaphobe "revolutionaries" or Obamaphobe secessionists?

Secessionists are the new birthers.

mnottertail -> RE: Obamaphobe "secession" & "armed rebellion" movements (11/13/2012 10:33:29 AM)

We, the people, will not let these states suceed peaceably unless the following conditions are met:

1.  Any federal monies in excess of those paid in are to be repaid at interest and before sucession.
2.  All federal roads, bridges and appurtenances,  are to be removed from entry and exit and through out your state, and returned to us in usable condition.
3.  Any airwaves are to be blocked from entering or exiting your state, at your cost and the plan approved by the Federal government.
4.  All federal reservations are to be bought by the state at fair market value, and paid with interest before sucession.

And that is just a small start on what you suceeders have to do.  Or we go right to the nukes.

The real danger is in that the left assumes that those who do not want as they do will quietly acquiesce. Also is the mistaken belief that no one is willing to actually fight for what they believe. History shows that given sufficient provocation those assumptions are false.

The left's biggest error is in the following -

their mistaken belief that the majority of the American people agree with them

It doesn't take a majority.

Having a black man as president is seen by some as the ultimate in uppityness, & crosses some imaginary line in the sand... can you imagine the uproar if Obama was caught screwing a white woman, ala Monica Lewinsky? Keep it in your pants for the sake of the union, Mr President...

tazzygirl -> RE: Obamaphobe "secession" & "armed rebellion" movements (11/13/2012 10:45:35 AM)

Obama has no problem taking on a nation.... I have no worries he has no intention of taking on Michelle .

The SC has already ruled on this issue.

So you're saying the left would have been justified in 2004 if they rose up and slaughtered everyone who supported W?

If that uppity negro ever put his hands on a white woman, some of our more racially intolerant posters would be calling for a good old fashioned lynching.

And yet they didnt with Cain..... hmmmm... In fact, I recall many calling those women liars.

They wouldn't have a chance. Michelle would be using his scrotum for a change purse.

There's no justification beyond what one is willing to fight for. I'm sure King George III did not see any justification to those of his subjects who rebelled.

LOL.. Imagine the Fox News coverage of that!

But he was "their" black man, had little chance of winning, and was good for their image.

To be fair, I think his sack would yield something larger than a change purse. A duffel bag perhaps.

There are always easily led and impressed people in any society. They are weak, in mind anyway, and they are a known mentality and appealed to by unscrupulous entities wanting to get their way at any cost.

I blame two such entities for this dangerous mindset.

The first… of course are politicians and their supporters. In this case it is the attack adds, full of half truths and outright lies, put forth by shadowy Republican manipulators. But…Politicians of all and any party and supporters do exactly the same thing.

The second… Equally unscrupulous media organizations that purposely inflame those easily manipulated simply for the sake of circulation and media shares…otherwise money.

I guess Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh are gonna have all the new material they need with this one.

cuckoldmepls -> RE: Obamaphobe "secession" & "armed rebellion" movements (11/13/2012 11:06:37 AM)

Certainly, petitions to secede are ridiculous since they won't be granted, but what most people don't understand is that secession from the federal government is inevideable. The unfunded liabilites are about $50 trillion & it all started when LBJ transferred social security to the general fund & started spending on it. On top of using SS as a piggy bank, they have now borrowed $16 trillion. There is no possible way to fund future liabilities. Even if you took all the money the top 5% have, it wouldn't last but 5 years.

It's inevideable that secession must occur since they refuse to balance the budget and declare bankruptcy or limit the size of the federal government & future entitlements. It's absolutely impossible. It's just a question of how fast will it occur. I predict it will happen within the next 4 years & red state Governors & their legislators will begin making preparations to secede together so they can set up a seperate financial system & rewrite the Constitution to where the feds answer to the states & they have no law making ability or taxing ability.
