If you are collecting any kind of assistance, you need id. That's just off the top of my head. So what do you think they are going to add to the list that isn't already there?

Just not a photo ID. I can think of the banks as well .. require an ID.. but will accept something besides a photo ID. And then we have those seniors who were never required to have one at all.

So Tazzy, what are the seniors doing now at the doctor's office?  A couple of years ago I noticed the new policy of requiring a picture ID to photocopy.  It is startling to be greeted with, "How are you doing Aylee?  We need your photo ID (may have said DL) to photocopy."

Me:  "Okay."  Getting purse out.  "Why?"

Them:  "To verify who you are."

Me:  "Umm. . . you just called me by name when I walked in."

Them:  "There are new regulations."

Me:  "Heh."

We know that seniors get medical care.  And you need it at the ER as well.  So. . . what are they doing for their ID if they have never needed one?

Not sure about where you live, but in Michigan seniors need id just like anyone else.

My PCP's office asks.... they cannot demand. Unless its a state or federal law, they cannot demand. Thats the word I got from billing. The only time they can demand is when they are giving out actual records to patients or when they are giving hand written scripts for narcotics.

Michigan doesnt even require a Photo ID to vote... and that is what I am speaking about.

New since when? I moved to a new state in August and all I needed was my old DL and a valid utility bill to get a new DL issued. They didn't even want to see my passport or any other documentation.

Then why do they ask everyone to show their id? And why did they send one guy out to his car to get his?

tazzygirl -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (12/1/2012 6:47:09 PM)

Because he went. They claim its for HIPPA. Yet, no where in HIPPA does it require a photo ID.

Lucky you, I'm in FL. I had to have 2 pieces of mail my SS card and birth certificate. All I have ever needed in the past is my old license. In fact the last time I got it through the mail I think and the only reason I needed a new one is because I moved. The Mistress had to have the same but because of the divorce and her name change she needed in addition a copy of her marriage license along with the court papers. The marriage license was the main hurdle but it's finally done.

Georgia started doing that too his year. My brother went to get a drivers license and he couldn't. He had a state I'd issued by the DMV itself but that wasn't good enough.

What does all this talk about driver's licenses have to do with some kid getting shot in the back of an SUV by a white guy who continued shooting as the SUV pulled away and left the scene?

Powergamz1 -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (12/1/2012 8:56:44 PM)

Interesting... because nowhere in Hiibel does it require a photo ID either... must be an 'H' thing.

HIPPA? I have taken several classes which included information about HIPPA and no where does it mention voting or requiring id to vote. And he went because he wanted to vote and they won't let you without id.

Good question. What I am wondering is why the SUV took off, but didn't take the dead kid to the hospital? Or call 911? But at least they arrested the asshole this time around.

The rumor I'm starting right here is that the shooter was pissed that they wouldn't turn down their radio, saw a passenger shotgun a beer, and his request for all their ID's (so he could call their mommies) was ignored. [8D]

Sorry, got yours mixed up with Aylee's.

By law, every Michigan voter must present picture identification at the polls, or sign an affidavit attesting that he or she is not in possession of picture identification.

........

Voting Without Photo ID

If you do not have photo ID, you can still cast a ballot simply by signing an affidavit. The affidavit can be used by:

Voters who do not have acceptable photo ID
Voters who have photo ID but didn't bring it to the polls
Once you sign the affidavit, you may cast your ballot. It will be counted with all other ballots on Election Day.

I dont think they left the scene. I could be wrong, but from everything I have read so far, they backed up, then he opened fire. It was Dunn who left the scene.

subspaceseven -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (12/2/2012 3:08:50 PM)

Correct Dunn left the scene, and drove home.. Never called the police or stopped by a police station on the way home. What the hell, fire 8-9 shots into a auto with loud music and leave, no worries, no need to see if anyone was hurt. If he was soooo scared, he should have called a cop. at the very least when he arrived home

He shot him on Friday, and the police arrested him Saturday in his home, and he never called the police to report it
