Let's see the guy fires off some 8 rounds, then drives off, is caught some almost 200 miles away. Claims there was a shot gun, police did not find one or any other fire arm. Guy claims he was in fear of his life...the music must have been something, uses a lawyer who sights "Stand Your gound" even at the gas station...yep real responisble that one is. [sm=biggrin.gif]

Perhaps he has some major heart condition that is made significantly worse by loud music? [:D]

If he is that sensitive to noise, he shouldnt be driving or in possession of a gun.

My tongue in cheek is a tad bit off tonight. PT is a bitch. [;)]

Okay, the accused fired 8 rounds claiming there was a shotgun that somehow acted on the quantum level and vanished into then air, then instead of staying close by to tell his side of the story to the police he drove 200 miles away.

And Lee Harvey Oswald was a patsy and actually JFK was killed by a rifle shot from the grassy knoll.

And the person that shot Saint Ronald was not Hinkley but Stan Smith, the CIA agent from American Dad.

I quite understand that a victim shoots a noise torturer. Here in The Netherlands it happens twice a year that someone is murdered because of a noise issue. (Unknown is the number of other people being hurt because of such a conflict.)

One year ago here in The Netherlands Gregory Halman was murdered by his own brother when he went down to ask him to please reduce the volume of the music.

I myself have a neighbour - a negro - on the next floor up who causes me stress and sleepless nights and days, and I do wish that he would win a lottery and move.

I have suffered a lot from music. So I would like all musicians to be extradited to the planet of Mars. Let them bother the white apes and the banths of Barsoom!

Yeah, let's get a rope. We don't need to know no damn facts.

Lemonidis [Dunn's attorney] has said the teens drove off after Dunn fired at them... She said the teens apparently got rid of the weapon before returning to the Gate station on Southside Boulevard.

This is why I don't like news stories like this. There is NEVER full details. In our rush to judgment, we as a society cobble together bits and pieces of information, declare someone guilty, and then call for their heads. There hasn't even been a full investigation yet, let alone a trial, so how can we assume that this was not a legitimate case of self-defense? And, on the flipside, how can we assume it was? There is not enough detail, yet, to adequately judge this case.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (11/29/2012 11:31:20 PM)

Silly. It was Shroedinger's shotgun.

When they looked for it, it disappeared. Before they looked, it was neither there nor gone.

stellauk -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (11/30/2012 2:42:59 AM)

There is another possibility....

This could have been the music in question....

...or even this.

If the youths in the SUV had a shotgun, why didnt they return fire?

Sorry but instinct is that if someone is shooting at me, and I have a weapon, I am going to shoot back.

And why was the suspect arrested 200 miles from where the incident happened? Why didnt he wait around for the police?

tazzygirl -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (11/30/2012 4:23:11 AM)

My question would be.... where is the danger if the teens were leaving?

I'm trying to figure out why the color of the perp and victim matters.

When it comes to Florida's stand your ground law those details may be more important than whether or not it was actually self defense.

tazzygirl -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (11/30/2012 4:37:04 AM)

I keep seeing from different sites how the lawyer is saying that Dunn acted as “as any responsible firearms owner would have.”

Thats chilling.

subspaceseven -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (11/30/2012 4:56:05 AM)

As in this case where a women fired a warning shot, hit no one, killed no one but the stand your ground defense was not allowed because she went into garage to get the gun to protect herself....

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/05/11/11660804-marissa-alexander-gets-20-years-for-firing-warning-shot-after-stand-your-ground-defense-fails?lite

There is a very thin line between anger and self defense in this case, one could claim he was angry because of the music and they would not heed his request to turn it down..teenagers are so polite when strangers ask the to do something....he claims a gun, no gun yet found...the martin case the gun was candy......

This is really a fucked up law, and needs to be changed...so if you are in a vehicle, basically safe, have the ability to drive away, but get out or shoot from inside the vehicle you can claim self defense because you had the weapon with you and did not have to get it and you claim they had a weapon which has not been found.

the defense attorney sums up the law this way.....

"The law was made for people like Ms. Alexander," Cobbin said. "They did not make it for people running around on the streets shooting people. They made it for women in their homes trying to defended themselves against abusive mean men."

Only if he believes that, and to be fair, he's a solicitor, so he'll have mad skills with teh lying...

tazzygirl -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (11/30/2012 5:26:22 AM)

According to the sites, he couldnt even tell how many were in the car... so that's responsible to shoot into the SUV? There could have been kids inside.

I'm shocked the second link's singer doesn't have a show on Disney or TeenNick.

While both of them almost had my ears bleeding within minutes (I should have played them with a big quiet space in between), I can't imagine getting violent over it. If anything, I'd just have to crank up my tunes (and windows) to drown it out.
