"The law was made for people like Ms. Alexander," Cobbin said. "They did not make it for people running around on the streets shooting people. They made it for women in their homes trying to defended themselves against abusive mean men."

The problem being that the "they" in this case were completely incompetent.

There is another possibility....
This could have been the music in question....
...or even this.

I'm shocked the second link's singer doesn't have a show on Disney or TeenNick.

While both of them almost had my ears bleeding within minutes (I should have played them with a big quiet space in between), I can't imagine getting violent over it. If anything, I'd just have to crank up my tunes (and windows) to drown it out.

I have been known to find some really annoying country and western stations from time to time.

Only some? There is only one condition where I enjoy a Country station for more than one song: off. I absolutely love them when they are off. [:D]

Okay, the accused fired 8 rounds claiming there was a shotgun that somehow acted on the quantum level and vanished into then air

Yeah, let's get a rope. We don't need to know no damn facts.

Lemonidis [Dunn's attorney] has said the teens drove off after Dunn fired at them... She said the teens apparently got rid of the weapon before returning to the Gate station on Southside Boulevard.

Not really anything new.
We die everyday. Our color alone is enough for someone to feel that their life is "threatened". It's the same reason that white women clutch their purses closer to them when I walk by, or why a group of teenagers would rather walk across the street, eyeing us warily than pass a friend and I on the sidewalk. It's the reason police brutality against POC is so commonplace and why we get killed for no reason or due to "accidents" during a "mistaken raid" everyday. Hell, some are killed by the same police officers we called for help.
Honestly, most of us are so accustomed to this type of thing that we don't even make a big deal about.

And race is mentioned because race matters. Being "color blind" is nothing but racist ideology dressed in apathetic clothing. But I suppose it's easier to turn a blind eye when you aren't a part of the group being systematically discriminated against.

Well race certainly seems to matter to the ones who grab their purses and move across the street. It would seem that they see you as "black" and not an actual person. It sucks that from your posts you seem to see yourself the same way.

Yup, got to agree with that...

Yeah, I know this tune. We've been here before. The guy's white, the kid's black, it's racist murder, case closed.

I have now summed up virtually every post you will ever make on the subject, and thereby saved you the trouble.

You're welcome.

So you do not think there is a race problem in FL?? Have you seen the GOP voting crap which is disproportionately stopping minorities from voting?? Have you missed the news of voter suppression, or perhaps comments from West?

Race is an issue, in every city in every state....as much as we want to believe "all men are created equal" I remember when blacks where not allowed on the same school bus as me...so to think that race as an issue is over would be wrong...We are not as far along the road to "equal rights" for blacks or even women to say race is not an issue when a white male who can drive away decides to fire into a car full of black youth because their music is loud, nothing else has been released, no other gun no nothing...why did he just not drive away??? Was he to threaten to drive away, into traffic or to a police station?? no the only choice he felt he had was to fire 5-9 shots into a car

So you do not think there is a race problem in FL?

Look to yourself. People who view everything through the lense of "race" are the race problem.

How do you get that ss7? I didn't read that at all. What I read is a man saying, "There are two sides to this story and there is no ruling." Did we lose "innocent until proven guilty" entirely? What data do you posess that makes you so certain you understand everything that happened in this event?

subspaceseven -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (11/30/2012 10:19:43 AM)

Ahhh of course no answer, so you support voter suppression? Have a better answer??other than the GOP saying it was to stop minorities from voting??? as they did..or did you miss that????

Your blind eye is more of the cause for accepted racism then the eye of the people calling it out...In case you have not heard.."the truth will set you free" and "all men are created equal" (though not for those voting for the DEMS) to say racism is caused by the people who call out racism, shows how blind YOU are....

No, however I do support photo ID requirements for voting. I see no reason why I SHOULDN'T have to prove I am who I say I am when going to the polls.

Hell, I have to show photo ID to watch a Big Bang Theory taping. I have to show photo ID to get into an office building in NYC. I have to show photo ID to open a bank account. I have to show photo ID to get on an airplane to fly domestically.

I have more issue with having to give my social security number for everything than I do presenting photo ID.

This person died because he had no consideration for the suffering he caused in one of his fellow human beings. This lack of consideration is what characterizes an animal. It is good that he is dead. Now an untold number of people have been spared the future suffering from his loud noise that he otherwise would have caused them.

subspaceseven -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (11/30/2012 10:25:58 AM)

Ahh of course GOP talking points.....that is all you have

have proof of voter fraud in the last election that was not from the GOP, you know the women arrested for voting twice

Voter fraud is a manufactured problem....we should welcome more people to vote, who can ...but the GOP knows the more people who vote the more they lose....it is called history.....read it and learn...for the first time

Not exactly, Rule. The victim was but a passenger in the back seat. That's even in the OP.

Why would I need proof of voter fraud to think it is a good idea to have to prove you are who you say you are? With or without fraud I think it is a good idea.

subspaceseven -> RE: Stand you rground ..again in FL (11/30/2012 11:21:32 AM)

cause the laws works as it is......no reason to change it unless you have proof of the fears you have been sold

unless you do not feel ALL AMERICANS SHOULD VOTE...cause not all meet the BS requirements set forth by the GOP , but the little thing called the Constitution says otherwise...you know all people being equal and all, women, minorities, the very laws the GOP wants to pass to make sure they can not vote

Because not only is this an increase of wasted government time, but also government money for something they claim is happening, yet wont even investigate to prove is happening.

Why does it make sense to spend millions of dollars on a bureaucracy to 'fix' a problem that noone has even been able to show exists?
I thought conservatives were supposed to be for small government and against wasting money?
