The law doesn't need to be changed, "The law was made for people like Ms. Alexander" and others who find themselves in legitimate self defense situations who need protection from overzealous anti gun asshole prosecutors. Your OP states he used SYG for an excuse, and that's exactly what it may be, an excuse. Criminals and lawbreakers do that all the time you know. They make excuses for shit they do after they get caught. Kill a cop ? It was because brainwashed by a rap music track that said it was kool. They all have an excuse. If he wasn't really standing his ground then the excuse likely won't fly. Only time and the legal process will tell, not armchair speculation.

And just for a little speculation / more like a question of my own, if the SUV did in fact drive off and then come back to the crime scene, then whats up with that ? It would indicate to me there indeed may have been a shotgun as the shooter said. Driving off to go back home 200 miles away after shooting some one was kind of dumb with witnesses around like nobody is going to jot your tag number down. I know one thing though. If you shoot some gang affiliated guy in self defense and you stick around to go through the legal motions, you're a marked person because they're going to know who you are. I'm not saying that these kids in the SUV were gang affiliated, I'm just sayin. I'm not sayin Travon Martin was connected in any way to a gang but George Zimmerman is the scourge of the black community. I wouldn't put it past some young gang banger looking to make his bones, licking his chops to put a cap in Zimmys ass.

I have looked for some source besides the lawyer and the shooter for that information. Have you found something?

Status: offline 		That was not not point, thepoint being I have not seen one news report saying this was gang related, and sorry, but a huge misconception is Black equals gang, even though there are Chinese gangs, Jewish Gangs, Latinos Gangs, white gangs, and hell every color of gangs, but what has been most portrayed as bad???on tv movies, other thsn west side story...

If it's not the point, why did you emphasize and all caps "OK TO SAY GANGS BECAUSE THEY ARE BLK"?
We have assholes and great people of all colors.
In this case, we appear to have one wielding a gun. That's why my first post was asking why are the respective races of the shooter and victim important except as to bait people.

Don't fuck with me. The researchers ignored gang shootings. They looked only at single-victim single-offender homicides where both the victim and the offender were strangers. The clue to this lies in what for you is the apparently obscure fact that they fucking said so.

They are quite rare. When I lived in miami, there were over 100 gangs in the area. Only one that I know of was mixed. they were the "International Posse" out of the Homestead/Florida city area.

I'll take that as directed at me since I did after all mention gangs but you need to calm down and reread what I posted. All that gang stuff was in the speculation paragraph. I was simply speculating why a person who just shot some one might drive off to avoid the repercussions.
