In 2011, 9.8% of non-Hispanic whites (19.2 million) lived in poverty and 4.4% in deep poverty; 25.3% of Hispanics (13.2 million) lived in poverty and 10.5% in deep poverty; and 27.6% of blacks (10.9 million) lived in poverty and 12.8% in deep poverty.

High poverty rates equate to high crime rates and incidence of violent crime.

However, I would like to point out that most violent crime in the US is minority on minority, not as some seem to implying minority on white.

Excellent possibility. A lot of people who aren't well educated or intelligent are racist regardless of the color or their skin

They already require you to have it for other things. If you do any banking, buy property or rent, try to buy alcohol or cigerettes, even lighters require id to buy if you look under 30. If you want to go to college or even talk to a counselor, they ask of id. If you are collecting any kind of assistance, you need id. That's just off the top of my head. So what do you think they are going to add to the list that isn't already there?

stella banning guns will just NEVER happen in America... It is in our Constitution and to change the Constitution is very difficult and a ban will never, at least in our lifetimes, become reality.

So

We need to work at and change the social issues that make these tragedies all too common.

Just not a photo ID. I can think of the banks as well .. require an ID.. but will accept something besides a photo ID. And then we have those seniors who were never required to have one at all.
