Seems like comparing FL and CM is like comparing apples to oranges. I like the forum/discussion format MUCH better here, but the writing groups over there are really active, so I like that. I have had very nice chats with people from both places.

I'm sooooo behind the times. Shit, always a day late and a dollar short.

what a freakin crock of shit. anyone who thinks (stereotypes) people on FL are libs, or this or that particular bend, for that matter, are showing a childlike misunderstanding of internet discussion boards. FL has a HUGE overlapping population with CM, and just like CM, there's not concentration of PCers.

and similar sentiments regarding how good or bad the moderation is at FL, or whether people run crying to mods or not, or whether the mods do anything or not. yet again, an absurdly misinformed understanding of FL, showing their utter ignorance of how it works.

the reality is, FL moderation can be anywhere from horrid - making the ridiculously secret and hidden moderation here at CM look like a picnic - to absolutely wonderful. anyone can start a group, and anyone can run it like a dick, or not.

so go on with your ridiculous rant, to try and copy and mock the CM rant group over at FL. it's just so childishly misinformed and inaccurate on so many levels, and anyone who's even visited FL for just a couple days can instantly see, that it is, or can be, a real discussion board...unlike CM, the TWUE discusion board.

Oh yes, our forum friends can be a fickle bunch and unexpectedly turn on their host at any moment. I don't think you are behind the times, they come and go like the tide. Just stand still and the waters will return . . . so are actually ahead of the crowd if you just hold fast.

As far as that piece of shit software called FetLife, you would think a programmer like James Golick would be able to get Ruby on Rails to produce a decent menu and search system for their discussion boards but no. For a chef and rails guru, his work at FetLife sure doesn't speak well of him.

I realize there is dinosaur poop on the PDG software used by CM (I even made an offer to upgrade this place) and it lags now and then, but at least you can navigate it in a meaningful manner.

So yeah, there is a lot of fence jumpers. They'll come and go until one day someone uses the Facebook style social plugins from FetLife, the AFF profile search styles and forum software from CollarMe. Then both the FL and CM fence jumpers will find a new home.

Until then, I check FL for social tracking and use CM for the discussion boards or on a rare occasion, profile surfing.

i agree with RS about how crappy the gui is over at FL, it truly sucks. but once you get past that, it's like 100, or a 1000 good discussion boards. here, you have one TWUE discussoin board run by a group of people who hide themselves behind sock mod accounts. I'll take getting used to a crappy gui over insanely absurd moderation here at CM.

Yes, I'm learning that these sites are best kept purely for hook-ups, not that I'm seriously looking anymore.

To step out of the kink arena and comment on or introduce politics or religion is only to invite resentments and anger, particularly from people who either disagree or have no idea what you're talking about. CM and FL are similar in that respect.

ps - the way it works, and the way to obtain what RS is alluding to, a way to navigate and see what's what. you join groups of interest, there are thousands of them, some small, some large. and then, each group is run by whoever started it, and who they allow to moderate. it's all transparent, unlike here. so when ModA says to cut it out over there, you know who that is. unlike here, when ModA says cut it out, you cannot see that ModA is so and so, who is very good friends with whoever they are protecting, ignoring their transgressions, while suspending their opponents. who the fuck needs to deal with that shit?

and ignoring reality - like accusing me of stalking someone, yet, i consistently posted in the threads BEFORE they did, and they replied to each and every one of my posts within an hour or less. reality just doesn't matter here at CM.

sorry i ranted a bit - so, once you've joined groups, click on the Groups link at the top, and it lists all your groups. you can then navigate to any group of interest, and see a list of threads, and reply just like here. it's not THAT complicated.

aren't you the OP, who also clammored on about hooking up with "fatties"? and you got butthurt cus some mod, one of thousands, in one of a thousand groups, tweated you bwad?

and no dude, i spend at least an hour over there every day, posting and conversing in many groups on many subjects. in fact, once again, you ignore reality, that FL is purposelfully setup to NOT be so easy for hookups.

No harm in saying it as it is. A simple caveat to the fatsos stops them getting upset down the track. I've never been THAT desperate as to ever play with some of the bloated creatures that seem to live on FL and CM.

I've always been very fussy.

Some of them purposely put themselves up for ridicule. Maybe that's part of their kink, who knows?
