ORIGINAL: ChatteParfaitt I'd love to see some recent examples (not in P & R please). I don't know what you consider recent, but I thought this was a pretty clear example: www.collarchat.com/m_4205198/mpage_1/tm.htm That said, these things happen much more often to newbies than long time posters, and I haven't seen anything very recently. Then again, I don't read most of the threads here, just dabble in what seems interesting. I have to admit that "hatchet jobs" are becoming far less common then they used to be. I'm pleased about that. I would be even more pleased if there were anything else to take their place, but it's been awfully quiet. Pam Contrary to what others responded to this, I thought it was a good example. I missed that thread, apparently, and I'm glad. As I was reading it now, I was cringing, in the hopes that I didn't reply in it like others did. I don't even think it started out negatively. Women say all the time they prefer men who are older and/or physically stronger than them, but wow if those tables are turned....whew, it's suddenly a kind-delivery system. Not to discuss the thread here in THIS thread, but I wanted to express why I thought it was a good example. I don't share the same opinion as the other women who contributed to that thread, and I was relieved to see that I wasn't a part of all that. Here's the thing, though, Pam. If YOU started a thread as heartcream has challenged, I don't think you'll get the same negative reaction, because people know you and like you here. If a newbie started the same thread, we'd see a different response, I think. But that's the way it's always been. We're less likely to attack someone we know than someone we don't, and assume is just another idiot. Aswad: I wanted to comment on your reply to me, about those who turned on each other during the sock-hay day. I agree with you, in that I have never seen these boards more divided than in those days. I think we've *mostly* recovered from it, but not fully. I know I see a few people much differently as a result.
