Oh I admit to first dig. But, what does your post mean? You know the "you can imagine where that came from?"

You can deflect all you want. I'd like an answer. If you can.

Am I supposed to assume you have some "special" "secret" in with the owners?

Reasons to not be cheerful.

rofl... you dont read very well.....

Again, I have never once been in contact with any owner of this site. Sorta negates your theory there.

And, yes, I can imagine how you might come to think that. I can think of a few ways, actually.

And, the hypocritical part is that you are demanding an answer about a dig you admit you instigated with one of your own, but are refusing to discuss your self.

ChatteParfaitt -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/6/2013 2:54:44 PM)

I'm not asking for an answer about a dig (how could you possibly think that, oh well you were the one to bring up reading comprehension) , I am asking for an answer about the special secret way you had to get your own 'demands' heard and attended to.

But ah, deflect all you want. These are not the droids you are looking for, and no one reading this post will see your 'real' intentions.

You have a good night now, I have dinner to cook.

There is no "secret" and I have already posted how I did it.

mnottertail -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/6/2013 3:49:34 PM)

I have never had my secret demands attended to, and they aint secret anyway.

Quote me if you must.

jlf1961 -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/6/2013 3:54:14 PM)

Look, I have had my arguments with mods about being hit with warnings for name calling when the person I was calling a name was in fact doing the same thing to just about everyone that disagreed with him.

I have also made suggestions using the philosophy expressed by Jonathon Swift in his essay "A modest proposal."

I admit that I kind of expect the mods to be at least college educated and thus know the work and understand where I am coming from, but then I usually expect people to have a higher level of education than they actually have. That is my failing.

And I do have to admit there are some on the boards that seem to violate the TOS at will and nothing seems to happen to them.

However, I still insist that the mods are human and therefore prone to human fallacies, such as favoritism or not seeing the equal violation even when it is pointed out to them.

So until the develop an artificial intelligence that is flawless, we are stuck with humans.

The only thing we can do is try to bring our feelings and observations to their attention and hope for the best, or leave the boards altogether.

Was more than just that, kalik. There were many such incidences... "rag head" was coming out an awful lot on the political forums.

And "white trash" is considered very acceptable and highly funny. They STILL don't prohibit that one[:'(]

If its derogatory and directed at a person then it's supposed to be a no no.

Maybe we should go back through all the threads over the years and report all these violations so they can be sanitized.

Only certain groups have the privelege of complaining about derogatory terms.

re: the "You rule"
Any 'rule' that takes longer to write than to circumvent isn't a very good rule IMO.

I don't know what that means.

Hillwilliam, would you be willing to write a thread that summarized TOS in plain language?

I agree that the rules need to be enforced as written. People are complaining about unwritten rules. Why can't TOS be updated, or at least an addendum be written and posted as a sticky?

littlewonder -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/7/2013 12:16:36 AM)

what I find funny is that we all sit here and we type about doms being consistent but yet we don't even have mods who are lol. Maybe it's just me. I was thinking about that and it just made me giggle.

Even if ya'll come up with all these long, detailed rules, there's always going to be someone who doesn't interpret the rule in the same way. It's been over 200 years and we still can't figure out how to interpret the Constitution.

metamorfosis -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/7/2013 12:18:15 AM)

Then why have rules at all?

Pam

littlewonder -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/7/2013 12:19:36 AM)

exactly. That's what I've been saying for years.

tazzygirl -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/7/2013 12:27:51 AM)

No rules leads to chaos.

Chaos leads to the site being closed and the owners being sued.

I can see why they have rules.... and even in law, rules are not "consistent" to the extent people can agree upon.

metamorfosis -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/7/2013 12:29:17 AM)

What I mean is: I'm beginning to think all we really have is the pretense of rules.

Pam

tazzygirl -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/7/2013 12:30:23 AM)

Rules are guidelines. Some can be hard and fast, some need to be more flexible.

Which "guideline" were they interpreting when they told a certain poster not to post comments on circumcision or Jewish culture?

Pam

tazzygirl -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/7/2013 12:40:11 AM)

I dont know. Did you ask them? At this point, it would be assuming.

I really have to wonder something. Do you expect all rules to be set down in stone? If so, I am sure that would be nice, to have a set list with no deviation, no exceptions, no additions. But is that really realistic?

No, it's not realistic. It's just that it opens the door for favoritism.

Pam

littlewonder -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/7/2013 12:45:16 AM)

You have favoritism everywhere, absolutely everywhere. It's all part of being human. Hell, even parents play favorites. It's another reason why I'm glad I only had one.

metamorfosis -> RE: The decline of collarme (1/7/2013 12:47:51 AM)

My parents did not play favorites. I expect the mods not to.

Pam
