BamaD -> RE: Piers or Alex Jones... (1/11/2013 12:56:24 PM)

Face it the reason for the decrease in crime rates isn't gun control
it isn't the banning of lead paint etc
and it sure isn't more abortions
if it were any of those it would not explain the crime spike in the 70s
if it were paint and abortions there would not have been a spike because crime would have allready been at astronomical levels
what does correspond to the spike is that the baby boomers were entering the age group that committs the most crime
if you pay attention to the crime rates the peaked as my generation hit these ages and dropped as we got older
this , to anyone with the least amount of analytic ability is far and away the best explination
the window for gun grabbers is closing as the excuse diminishes

No, you were asked to show where the total banning bills are. You have yet to show one. That is what is meant by... its not on the table... there are no laws being proposed to ban ALL guns.

no I was asked to show were anyone want to ban all guns God I wish you could read

lovmuffin -> RE: Piers or Alex Jones... (1/11/2013 1:30:51 PM)

Tazzy, there are no blanket gun bans written into any of the current legislation being proposed. However it's been stated before by extremists on left that "no one other than the police or military need guns" "ban them all" "it's a first step" "it's a start". What are we supposed to infer from that ? If the gun banners had their wish, all we could own would be registered muzzle loaders. The notion that a ban on military looking semi autos or common full size magazines for long guns or handguns would in any way mitigate gun crime or mass murder is illogical, about as enforceable as drug laws and altogether stupid on its face.

it takes two active brain cells to know that the brady bunch wants any more an it would be obvious sorry but I was not at the meeting so I cannot quote what was said
you are honestly going to tell me that the brady bunch doesn't want total firearms confiscation
funny how you change the subject every time you blindly walk into it

That they are just that.. extremists who are not being listened too. Unless I am mistaken, only a select few will be allowed to own many of these weapons.. and they will have to be registered.... correct?

If yes, then I also recall this is the situation for fully automatic guns.. only a select few can own them. Have they started rounding those up?

How would the Feinstein bill be any different?

lovmuffin -> RE: Piers or Alex Jones... (1/11/2013 2:33:11 PM)

Yes, I believe registration is correct and I doubt that part of the legislation would pass. I'm not so sure any of it regarding semi autos or magazine bans can get through the house.

The machine gun registration scheme started back in 1936 at a time where there were not overwhelming numbers of them in private hands such as semi autos are today. I can't speak too much to that as I don't know enough about the 1936 legislation but if the government ever wanted to round them up they sure would know where to go and get em. I will add that there are a crap load of them out there that are not registered. The 1986 legislation priced most people out of the legal market.

FR,

Heard on the radio today, in response to why a private Citizen would want a hi-cap magazine for a gun: "For the same reason the cops on the street have hi-cap magazines for theirs."

If the government wanted them, surely, according to many of you, even those organizations wouldnt stop them.

So, again, what is preventing the government from rounding them up?

in your own requote you will see that L said confiscation will come up when THIS BAN DOESN'T PUT AND END TO CRIME
that means any request to prove anyone put it on the table for now needs to improve their comprehension

The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it. - Attributed to T. Jefferson

Really Tazzy, even you should be able to understand the dynamics involved.

It's implicit in the scheme.

You really are not up to this.
