Status: offline 		Using the same logic which the GOP is applying to Planned Parenthood, namely that any dollar which ends up in their pocket *could* be used for abortion services ( although the accounting is strict, and it's not ), then similarly, any dollar which ends up in the catholic church's pocket *COULD BE* used for molesting children.

And $500,000 per molested child is worse than $1,000 per aborted child, right?

People like you are going to continue to assign all the negative actions of a vast minority to the entirety of the whole. It is seen in your racism charges against the Republican Party. If that is what you are going to continue to do, look at what party supported the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and which didn't, which party was more actively involved in the KKK, and why Planned Parenthood was started in the first place (making those that support PP also in support of that goal). Then, go forward and tell me which party is racist.

I don't doubt you at all. And, I'm wouldn't doubt that the overwhelming majority - allowing for complete loons - of women getting abortions did not set out to have an abortion as a goal. Planned Parenthood is a provider of abortive services. You can go to any PP and get assistance towards that - I do know there are some locations that do not provide them, themselves. That is a service they provide. The Catholic Church - I was raised Catholic and left on my own for hypocrisy's I saw - is not a child molestation service provider.

Except going with fargle's claim, the public school system is a child molestation provider as well. The ratio of students/children to teachers to molestations is higher in the public school system than in the Roman Catholic Church. (And I am going by US rates. So please do not pull in Zimbabwe or something.)

Really? Gimme a break. Does PP offer abortive services? Absolutely, they do. Do Catholic Churches offer Child Molestation Services? Absolutely not. Have there been cases where children were molested? Absolutely. Have there been cases where priests have had their ridiculous actions covered up? Absolutely.

Stating that Catholic Churches earn $1/2M per molested child is fucking stupid and disingenuous, at the very least.

And, if we stick with the OP's own line of thinking...

I was raised to be Catholic as well. And, nope, the reasoning is sound.

We arent speaking of a lone Priest. We are talking about a systemic manipulation of the system to allow Priests who molested children to avoid detection and prosecution. When you know, and you turn a blind eye and do things to cover it up, you are agreeing to the actions.

Most of the priests, unless my understanding is wrong, were moved to positions with less opportunity to continue molesting kids. I don't know what or if the Catholic church did anything beyond moving the priests. But, linking the Catholic Church - as a whole - to "agreeing to the [molestations]," you are dead ass wrong. According to your claim, the entirety of the Catholic hierarchy knew about each molestation and didn't attempt to stop more from happening. From each individual Catholic Church in every city, you are claiming that they support child molestation.

That isn't true. You know it isn't true. You just want to pick and pick and pick.
