DesFip, Good idea about the signature line. I’m going to do that.

The last two days have been really difficult.
I was very nervous about putting a post like this up and laying myself open to possible insults. As far as dyslexia and me, the words in my mind are not the same as the words from my pen.

Grammar and spelling pedants are like the devil riding on my back! The fear of being caught out may seem pathetic to some but it’s a very real fear and I think it’s hugely common amongst people like myself.
As a dyslexic you will always be reminded that you are stupid, (even though your not) even when you have a fantastic support team egging you on, the worry of being stupid or being caught out for being stupid may as well be imprinted on your DNA.

Forums have been a real godsend to me. When I look back at some of my written stuff its almost illegible. Making progress with the written word is hindered by my fumbling memory (another dyslexic trait) and so it has taken years to be able to structure a written sentence that makes sense and have the confidence to post it to an open forum.

Once again, thanks everyone for taking the time to contribute.

I have dropped you a line in private but I wanted to publicly thank you for apologizing the way you did. It takes a bigger person than most to do such a thing and I for one have a huge amount of respect for you now.

Thank you

Thank you. I couldn't really expect more than acknowledgment of the apology. You accepting it makes me happy. You stating that you have respect for me puts me over the moon. :)

(I would've said that it warms the cockles of my heart, but I don't know what the heck a cockle is.)

Thank you for overcoming that nervousness. I think that many of us learned something, both of the details/ramifications of dyslexia and how to comport ourselves. You have done this community a great service.

In a way, it seems that this post is a microcosm of what you're always doing, by constantly overcoming (though probably not always to the same degree) to participate in these fora. All in all, I'm betting on you no matter what the obstacle is.

Although this situation started because of a negative.
I think it has had some positive impacts.

It has brought about a few meaningful and helpful discussions.

Another one who has never had a problem with your posts. Both Master and I have commented on how much we enjoy reading your posts and and about your life. Your posts are one of the easiest to me to read.

Omg really littlewonder?!? I can't tell you what a compliment that is!

lilsquaw, I hope you are right. I think you are right.
You know, people go on about all the negativity on this site but you only have to look at this thread to see some really positive and encouraging stuff.

Wannapleez, You need to check your bulk mail. I did answer your letter but I can see you didn't get mine.

By the way, how do I put something in my signature line???

You were right -- 2 notes from you in my Bulk Mail. I don't think I've ever gotten anything in there before and then one of the first emails that I really want lands there. That's just silly.

ETA: AH, figured it out. My mail settings (not set by me) are set to send anything from another country to Bulk Mail. So I turned that option off. What kind of xenophobe do they think I am? :)
