Public opinion polls show that Americans overwhelming support background checks. The majority of Americans support high magazine and assault weapons bans. If the Republicans back the fringe right again, it won't help them in the next national election.

Its sad that the NRA's only proposal to increase public safety is a further arming of the population.

I read recently that something over 24% of Americans support an outright ban. I'm wondering if trying to marginalise those outright-banners by repeatedly terming them 'extremists' is going to work for much longer given that this is nearly a quarter of the population. There's roughly a similar percentage of anti-monarchists here in the UK - few call us 'extremists', though.

Which means that a lot more people are against the ban at 24% they don't need to be marginalized they are on the margin.

So, do you think we anti-monarchists here in the UK hold an equally 'extremist' point of view?

I didn't say you were extremists just too badly outnumbered to get your way.
Extremist would be if you wanted to follow the traditional way of overthrowing monarchs, beheading.

For the record, I don't think that gun-owners in the USA should be beheaded.

I was refering to the monarchy, who I don't think should be beheaded either.

Well, damnit, there must be *some* people it's OK to behead. I don't want to behead lots of people - just a moderate number of people. Moderation in all things, that's my motto.

Haven't the English been talking of reforming the House of Lords and reducing the membership for the last several generations?

French males okay, but we might have to rethink beheading cute, sexy french females.

Couldnt we just feed the French taco bell, laxatives and prune juice?

And I want to do something nice for the Aussies....

I just need everyone in the United States to get my formula for my homemade salsa so we can send every Assie a jar.

I noticed you did not question the word "formula" in connection to salsa.

Explaination in Off topic, page 5, Hot in this artery thread.

What is it you have with taco bell, laxatives and prune juice?!? It's not like the combo of duct tape and WD-40 (the two things that can fix pretty much anything... if it moves and it shouldn't --> duct tape; if it doesn't move and it should --> WD-40). I mean, there is something to be said about redundancy, but double redundancy?!? C'mon, Man!

I never claimed to be merciful, besides, the Aussies need something to spice up their lives.

I am a firm believer in never leaving anything to chance. Taco Bell is good on occasion, but I am talking about a steady diet of it, all that cheese is gonna stop something from flowing normally.....

Besides, I meant to add replace the toilet paper with 24 grit sand paper.

Okay, what is the difference between the English and the British?

Is it kind of like the differences between rebs, Yankees, and the God Chosen Texans?

Alright, this is going to label me a Trekkie, however, it does not seem to come up any where I tried to translate it.

However
Lasha, meaning fissure - a place apparently east of the Dead Sea (Genesis 10:19)

I can find no meaning for nerak other than it is an anagram of Karen.
