Well thank you for that "obvious" answer.

Well thank you for that "obvious" answer.

Sorry if that sounded condesending, that was not my intent. It is only obvious if you look at it. It's not like Ifigured this out by myself. This was brought to my attention by something I read in the early 70s trying to explain the sharp jump in crime and predicting what would happen and he was pretty much on target. AgainI should not have used the word obvious because in retrospect I can see where it could easily taken as condesending.

really really wish I could type.

I'll tel, you why...it's fairly simple actually....some guy with a gun (whom he trusted) had bullets (and a gun)...and he shot him.

That's pretty much it.

(Any questions?).

No some guy he trusted decided to kill him and had a gun and that is it.

(Uhhhhmmmm....I think that's what I just said).

Like...kind of verbatim.

(As in...pretty much the exact same words kind of thing).

You said he killed because he had a gun I said he did it because he wanted to kill him and in addition.

OK but the apology still stands just in case.

tazzygirl -> RE: Chris Kyle, Navy Seal and sniper. Why did this have to happen? (2/8/2013 7:07:29 PM)

The type of gun is known.... doesnt matter in this thread.

The bodies were "riddled" with bullet wounds. That was how the article I just read put it.

This thread was SUPPOSED to be about the mental aspects and all the bragging others did about training and how safe and secure they were because of that training.

Your better off with training than without
You are better off being able to defend yourself than counting on the goodwill of the badguys.
Noone is Superman.
Anyone can be shot,or stabbed in the back by a friend.
An enemy will find it more difficult.

tazzygirl -> RE: Chris Kyle, Navy Seal and sniper. Why did this have to happen? (2/8/2013 11:19:36 PM)

I have never dismissed the benefits of training.

Now you are getting it. Anyone can be killed. More likely by a friend, family members or a co worker than someone out on the streets.

Yet even today, the majority of violent crimes are committed by people who know their victims. Between 1998 and 2002, for example, 54% of all violent crimes occurred between non-strangers.2 And for certain types of violent crimes, the percentage committed by non-strangers is much higher. In 2004, only 23% of murders3 and approximately 30% of sexual assaults were committed by strangers.4 Robbery is the only category of violent crime consistently committed more often by a stranger rather than by someone known to the victim.5

And yet those are the people we trust the most with our most dangerous possessions.

If you understand your chances are 75% that you will be killed by someone you know, why the hell would you not guard against those you know?

If you dig deeper you will find that lot of those fights between friends and relatives start over a criminal activity they are both engaged in.

Unfortunatly my infomation was not gleaned on the internet, but from other electronic media. Thus I have no link.
What you call assumptions I call analysis you know what that is, thinking about the facts and coming to a conclusion.

If you actually did spend 20 years as a parole officer you would not be challenging my analysis because you would have seen it as a given rasing serious questions about this claim of yours.

And now you are claiming you know what I did for 20 years?
