Notsweet -> Valentine's Day (2/6/2013 7:53:54 PM)

Yeah, I know, Steak and a Blow Job Day, fake holiday made up by Hallmark, yaddayaddayadda, but I love it.

HOWEVER. I am horrified by a commercial I keep seeing. For $100, you can send a giant four and a half foot tall stuffed bear to your (so-called) beloved. ARE YA FUCKING KIDDING ME? Where in the hell are you going to put the damn thing? Who's gonna clean it? And furthermore, I'm only four inches taller than this fucking bear!

I'll take the flowers and chocolate they ell you not to send. Or hell, give me the $100, and I won't even charge you shipping. But for the love of all that is holy, please, please, please do not send a 4'6" stuffed bear to a 4'10" woman with limited storage space and massive cat hair.

That is all.

A considerate partner would send you the bear, a pair of 6 inch heals and one of those vacuum bag thingys that shrinks everything down to storable sizes for when the novelty wears off lol. (for the bear of course)

Personally the whole valentines thing irks me but the steak and a blow job day is a concept I would definitely buy into.

TNDommeK -> RE: Valentine's Day (2/6/2013 8:07:57 PM)

Hubby keeps complaining that they always show those Zales commercials right around this time. Which means he will go there for V day. *grins madly*

But luckily for me, he treats me wonderfully every day of the week.

Yep. That's a surprise right there.

The positive side to getting a 4'6" stuffed bear for Valentines day is that he loves you without expectations.
It could be worse. [:)]

Notsweet -> RE: Valentine's Day (2/6/2013 8:15:13 PM)

Poise, it would have to be, because anyone who knows me wouldn't send the damn bear and EVER expect to get the pooper!

LMAO, that is hilarious! I'm stealing it!

When i was 17 my first boyfriend & I went to the yearly summer fair and after throwing only a few dimes in some toss game booth, he won me a giant purple stuffed elephant.. it wasnt 4'6" but it was definately pretty big, about half that size.. I would hang the elephant from the ceiling hook in the corner so it was out of the way but not out of my heart cuz it always made me smile.. [:)]

If I hear "HE WENT TO JARED" on T.V. just ONE MORE TIME>>>>>>GRRRRRRR!!! LOL

LafayetteLady -> RE: Valentine's Day (2/6/2013 8:40:12 PM)

Well, I would have to have it appraised and make sure they were real diamonds and not CZ. But if that proved true, then hell yea, head straight for my pooper!

(ok, I am an anal queen and love that anyway, but I still would like the ring!)

littlewonder -> RE: Valentine's Day (2/6/2013 10:27:08 PM)

I remember when my daughter was born and my husband bought her this huge giant stuffed white bear. It was probably about the size you mentioned. It was adorable and we sat it on the floor in her room and when she learned to crawl she would cuddle up to it and fall asleep. Let's all say it......aaaawwww.

And then we got a dog. we came home from the grocery store one evening and you guessed it....there was stuffing allll over the place! Poor bear. [:(]

Master has been asking me what I want for V Day but I just keep telling him "you". I hate when he asks me because I can never think of anything except to give me more time with him. [:)]

LadyPact -> RE: Valentine's Day (2/6/2013 10:30:22 PM)

I actually have a couple of bears that size.

What? You don't like the one where the guy proposes on the airplane and the attendant says, "Please return your fiancee to her original upright position"?

TNDommeK -> RE: Valentine's Day (2/6/2013 10:45:01 PM)

Omg, or the GPS with the diamond necklace hanging from it!

LafayetteLady -> RE: Valentine's Day (2/6/2013 10:53:38 PM)

Well, at this point, I have to happily admit, I'm likely to have a very special "date" on Valentine's day. I'll probably be spending it with my 2 year old granddaughter while her parents go out for a romantic evening. Which when you have a two year old could mean dinner without having to cut someone meal for them, lol.

calamitysandra -> RE: Valentine's Day (2/7/2013 1:01:02 AM)

Valentines Day is a family thing for us, because *big sad kid eyes* but we love you too!
The little buggers where just going for the chocolates, but I am a sucker.
I already bought the assortment of Wherters Echte chocolates they will receive this year.

RE: the diamonds

Ron White said it best:
"I'm all for truth in advertising. Why can't they just say 'Diamonds, that'll shut her up'"?

Wish I had the chance for that kind of date! No grandchildren here yet, but fingers crossed.

Notsweet -> RE: Valentine's Day (2/7/2013 6:06:33 AM)

Yeah, I've always thought that would work.

Honestly, candy, flowers. Sushi.

NO bears. I've got a cat with a UTI.

TheLilSquaw -> RE: Valentine's Day (2/7/2013 6:08:57 AM)

I am blessed to be in a relationship where we don't need or want a holiday as an excuse to do things for one another. In-fact THAT is exactly why we don't celebrate them.

ETA: Id love a stuffy that big then I could cuddle with it at night. Lol
