What disturbs me more than the alleged "posers", is that the OP spent a lot of time making profiles and working so hard to prove a mute point that we all should know already... This is the internet afterall.  Honestly, if the OP is that concerned about "posers", and the harm they could cause, they should not be on sites like these.  Last I checked, we are all adults and This is an adult site. This is all the time I will waste on this sorry thread.

*totally confused over the logic of this*

velvet:
"I have been amused by how many posers there are online.  To prove my point to an acquaintance, profiles were set up here and on Bondage using a photo of one of the most famous fettish models there is.... Eve Ellis."

Your point was to prove there were posers by...becoming one yourself?  I see no shame for the Doms responding to a photograph and wanting to get to know an honest submissive...the shame goes to the one who lies and misrepresents themselves.

I feel sorry for those who have to sift through all the posers trying to find a precious jewel among all the ones merely made of paste....or stolen pix and lies.

For many of us, this lifestyle is built on...being worthy of the deepest trust.

I remember as a punk rock kid the worst possible thing anyone could call another person was a poseur.  The worst imaginable thing to be was a poseur.  Years hense, several old friends and I discussed this and realized how silly it all was.  What constitutes a "real punk"?  I find it funny that in the BDSM community (a community chracterized in no small part by "role play") we would be so apalled at people playing a "role".  Not one of us was born a Victorian handmaid, a slave, on Gor, or into the body of an equine or canine - yet posing as such is certainly acceptable - is it not?  Cripes - not everyone has developed as deep an understanding of the history and various permutations of fetishism, lifestyle, etc. but their interest and desire to be a part-of is no less valid.  Yet at the same time, I am amused by how few people I talk to know who Severin was.  No matter.

You're not a poser; you are a sad example of an unethical self-aggrandizing jerk.

Despite the "reasons" you give here the real reason you did this was to feel superior to others.  Not a good incentive for life.

My thoughts exactly only said much more suscinctly!

Posers?

They had style, they had grace
Rita Hayworth gave good face
Lauren, Katherine, Lana too
Bette Davis, we love you

Ladies with an attitude
Fellows that were in the mood
Don't just stand there, let's get to it
Strike a pose, there's nothing to it

I wonder what Eve Ellis would have to say about you stealing *her* picture to make a profile here? This could actually get you sued, because she is so famous. Way smart there fellow!

*Gives the genius award 2006 to velvet for this brilliant move*

Normally I would not be so bitchy, but I've been having a rough week and people like the OP are not the sorts to make life any easier for the rest of us. Besides, as a writer, dancer and past adult amatuer model I find it highly offensive for the OP to have simply stolen this Lady's picture to create a fake profile with it.

As for people not recognizing the model as being Eve Ellis, at least they were likely for the most part being sincere, which we are not obseverving from your actions as described. Besides, who is to say that no one famous would come here to seek a relationship; this is after all a big site with all sorts of different people on here. So even some of those who may have recognized the pictures would have perhaps thought that indeed this was a sincere attempt at finding a relationship.

Gahh...I am too moody today... I'll shut up now....

I finally figured out how to identify a "True Master". It just so happens to be that a "True Master" can count every pubic hair on a woman without getting aroused. Heck, I can't get past the smell.  I am so busted! But it does explain why so many Masters like women shaved.

I purpose the new improved Odorama experience brought from the movie theatres direct to your computer,
for the low indroductry price of $89.99 per month.
Failing that, you can use snail mail and have the person in question
submit sweat samples and then rate their aromatic plentitude.

On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest

1 smells like old shoes
2 smells like wet dog (benji overboard!)
3 smells like dirty laundry
4 smells like mud/dirt/clay
5 smells like a clean human
6 smells like a clean, perfumed and deodorized human
7 smells like sugar and spice and everything nice
8 smells like your favorite desserts
9 smells like your favorite wine
10 smells like hot, sweaty, sex
