And yet 77%....

Your posts are starting to descend into trolling.

None of the statistics you've posted directly address the circumstances of this particular case. And even leaving that aside, none of them report the 100% assumption underlying your claim that this specific girl will require "years of therapy."

K.

Tsk tsk.

Dont worry. Im sure living with a parent who didnt have enough sense to get her gun training, but kept a loaded gun in the home, the child will go without therapy of any kind.

Its cool. Your guns are safe. To bad that child isnt.

[sm=rofl.gif]

Those kids who did self defend... are alive because the parents did not heed your recommendation... be unarmed.

Stay just as you are Tazzy. It's most adorable, really. Your emotions is shining, brilliant too. [8D]

And yet 77% who witness a school shooting will. What are the chances when a kid pulls the trigger who isnt bent on killing someone but, instead, is trying to save her own life?

When you come down off your gun high, you might actually see something beyond your own hard on for guns.

Thanks for being thoughtful and for dealing so well with the twits.[:D]

tazzygirl -> RE: gun control and tragedies (3/14/2013 4:42:48 PM)

Hey, all I can do is try. I cant convert the hard core nut cases who believe guns solve everything.

Yachtie -> RE: gun control and tragedies (3/14/2013 4:44:05 PM)

What did the one twit way to the other twit?

Okay enough of the trolling. The statistics you've trotting out pertain to cases where children witnessed something horrific or were injured by violence. This girl didn't witness anything. She was inside a closet. When the intruder turned the doorknob, she fired through the door. She came out after he ran away. She didn't witness violence, wasn't subjected to violence, and wasn't injured by violence.

Generally speaking, a "nut case" is someone who has lost contact with reality, and I think it's fairly obvious whose foot that shoe fits in this case.

Not to mention where your support is coming from. [:D]

Yes, those who believe a child grabbing a gun she was never trained to use and hiding herself in a closet during a home invasion, then having to pull the trigger, will leave her untouched.

But, since that IS what you believe... which I find completely laughable... I wish you well in that belief.

Who knows? Why, Yazzy knows. She knows everything. Just ask her, she'll tell ya.

Tell me Tazzy, since you deemed it necessary to point to "she was never trained to use", had she been, would that make a difference to you?

Inquiring minds want to know.

What I believe is that not every person or child or circumstance is exactly the same, and that before any conclusions are drawn each of those factors needs to be considered.

Apparently you don't. Good luck with that belief.

Yes, actually, it would. Its something I was trained to do from age 10. You notice I dont say much about the 14 year old boy who did have some training. Other than he was left to watch 3 other siblings alone with, again, access to loaded firearms in the house.

That's fine. But it's your assumption that she would require therapy that I take issue with. You assume what you do not know based upon statistics, which in this case may or may not be correct.

Im not willing to discount it and say she wont. Statistically speaking, she will. And each factor in the case adds to those statistics.

She didnt have any trainind... stress.

Home invasion... stress

Her own words ""I was scared and I didn't know what to do next," Kendra told ABC News." .. stress

Hearing someone attempt to open the closet door.. stress

Shooting a weapon she has never shot before... stress

Hearing the guy yell out in pain after she shot... stress

Not knowing where he was after she shot, ir he left, would he return... stress.

Now, I am sure you big, bad men can handle all that very well.

Its a 12 year old girl, ffs.

Personally, I think an adult beverage would be more in order.
