Since there's been plenty of bickering in the other threads, I figured I'd make a thread for all the insensitive posts about the incident.

Have at it, folks, and let's keep it in this thread.

IWYW,
— Aswad.

Bit late for that, I'd have said.

I think it's a bit late, too. There's enough callousness on the other thread. Shame that those who lack sympathy wouldn't donate all of that hardened skin for necessary graphs for the victims of burns.

Yes, agreed.

But you can help, LP.

Just transplant your last post into this thread, while there's time to edit it.

IWYW,

LP's IRA comment, Aswad? I think she might just have had my father in mind. He was involved as a London policeman in dealing with the Irish Republicans' bomb at Harrod's in 1983. Some of his colleagues were killed or injured in that; he only narrowly avoided the worst himself.

Which, on the other hand, gives me an added reason for saying 'Oh fuck off and find someone else to oppress you' to those who want to make cretinous blanket statements about Brits who are unsympathetic about this kind of tragedy in the USA.

Assuming this is an act of terror.........

how many people are going to die because of this? At the moment it is 2, the usual reaction of the US when someone throws a stone at their greenhouse is to throw boulders, rocks and bucket loads of shit in the general direction of countries they don't like. I am sure some intel will pop up fairly soon pointing to somewhere far away where evil people live and then the drones will fly.

How many people are going to die because of this?

Will those deaths make the world a better place?

Oh come on, Owner. It should have been clear that I wasn't doing that. What I *was* doing was trying to hit back at the crap idea that no-one outside of the USA gives a damn about tragedies that Americans suffer on their turf.

Unless it`s state sponsored, there won`t be any mass bombings.......

If it`s political terror, either of the domestic or imported ilk, they will be brought to justice and punished.

The multiple nature of the attack tells me it`s a major operation.

Please note, My dear. Not everyone was throwing blankets statements out to all Brits. Just one very, unfeeling in matters of tragedy type Brit.

I'd happily re-post it here, Aswad. Unfortunately, without the proper context from the other thread, I don't know if it would make much sense to the reader. Perhaps the most recent comment I made regarding My personal disdain for inaccurate reporting from news agencies will be less scathing.

My apologies for any misunderstanding

And I was going to say let's don't compare, cuz you guys could start at Agincourt.

Until I took a breath and read back and forth a little, everyone being visibly upset by this.

There appear to only be one or two agent provocateurs on the thread.   I don't think any of them are UK folk, let alone Brits in fact.

if it is state sponsered........ the WMD intel re Iraq was fake, what if Iran were to be blamed for this?

Terrorist acts don't go unpunished by the US and so far it has got you where?
ps. unfortunately when I say you I have to include us ie. Britain

Will those deaths make the world a better place?

No, Owner, that wasn't My point.

While I can't back it up with any kind of study or hard data, I'm inclined to think that vicious attacks on civilians are more poignant when they are on your home soil. It's easier to distance oneself from the impact when it's further away. That doesn't mean a person should go about being completely unsympathetic to those who are injured or have mean spirited comments towards those who are discussing prayers and/or good wishes to the people of the city or the families effected. Especially when the person in question has displayed his dickheadedness regarding multiple tragedies that have occurred in the US.

Eh? I hadn't posted before you said that!

I wasn't claiming either of you were bickering.

I was offering you up as examples of Brits that don't conform to LL's stereotyping of Brit posters.

IWYW,
— Aswad.

TBH, Ron, in any mass attack like this, it's been my experience that everyone's so keen to find out who perpetrated it that the pressure is too much for the news agencies, who duly blabber and bullshit far too early on the back of too few facts.

My guess at this stage would be a foreign terrorist group. But which one, I haven't yet a clue.

QFT.

And nobody has claimed responsibility yet, which usually means it's domestic.

If it`s Iran or North Korea or who ever......it will mean war.Not sure how it will be waged, tho.

We certainly won`t invade/attack a non-player(ie. shrub-Iraq-fuck-up).

If it`s a foreign group......it`ll be something in between Zero Dark 30 and (to the chagrin of rich)....... drown attacks.

If it`s local.....they`ll receive a world class shit storm.

Whatever the case.....some body`s are going to hit the floor......
