We certainly won`t invade/attack a non-player(ie. shrub-Iraq-fuck-up).

If it`s a foreign group......it`ll be something in between Zero Dark 30 and (to the chagrin of rich)....... drown attacks.

If it`s local.....they`ll receive a world class shit storm.

Whatever the case.....some body`s are going to hit the floor......

not picking on you Owner but for the third time will those deaths make the world a better place?

Well, you have it that 9/11ers flew out of Boston Logan.   They are familiar with the area.  But we have been knocking off most of their high and mid level guys (drones and seals and marines and army).

On the other hand we have patriots day( the lexington concord one), and tax day, and the place where we held the tea party.  Abraham Lincolns death.  Reg Bundy as well, but didnt want to go there with the turning on the Brits already in progress.

It is far too early for me to take a wait and see attitude on this one.

The multiple nature of the attack tells me it`s a major operation.

What do you mean?

We're talking about basic stuff that any high school kid should be able to pull off, especially now that the instructions for carrying out such attacks are available on the Internet, in detail. That's one of the unfortunate things the 7/22 attacker did, with the "2083: A European Declaration of Independence" manifesto. And he wasn't particularly sophisticated, either.

This looks like a few pounds worth of explosives, if I'm guessing right about the scale of the images, with no shrapnel in the charge. Probably a fairly simple home made device, like a peroxide bomb. It may have been triggered by cell phone, but could also just have been crappy timers that didn't sync well. In any case, nothing sophisticated about it so far.

IWYW,
— Aswad.

Obama seems to be careful right now to not use the "T" word.. I hope the info he does get is totally accurate..

I dont think its Iran.. the US has used international banking pressure in this last year cut their oil sales/income in half.. so they have their own serious economic problems (high inflation, their currency devaluing, etc) that are likely front and center, not sending someone over to bomb a marathon.. I doubt it would be N Korea either.. jmo..

TJ my guess would be home grown or AQ sympathisers. Either way I hope they are caught, and quickly.

Just an aside, we have had four AQ sympathisers jailed today for trying to use remote controlled car (models) bombs to try and explode inside an army base.

Many of these bombers may seem stupid but are often highly intelligent and highly motivated. I recall at the height of the IRA bombings in London, EVERY suspicious package would get reported....... Then people would be more irate that their train journey had been delayed than anything else.

Dont become complacent......If it looks suspicious tell the cops.

Apparently there were ball bearings in there, so at least, from a technical point of view, not quite as crude, though I still shudder that officials are calling it a "sophisticated" attack.

"World a better place"?

Horrible question......

Does executing a murderer make the world a better place......?

May be.

May be not or maybe, no difference at all.

Doing nothing would pretty much be the same deal....

IMHO....it`s irrelevant.

I really don't think it takes all that much to conduct one's terrorism 'sophisticatedly' Aswad. In the days of the IRA they managed to bomb the British cabinet - and that was before the infotech revolution.

But it's not fair or accurate to lump all of our Brits into this category.

Which is why I contend that it shouldn't be referred to as "sophisticated".

That's giving credit that is patently not due.

Fair enough. Anyway, the main concern right now is not so much technical sophistication as organisational sophistication. That is, that coordinated attacks aren't due to take place elsewhere.

Confirming what an insensitive bastard I can be, this is the thread I came right to. Thanks, Aswad!

I'll read a bit, before offering my take on the events.
