ORIGINAL: BamaD I note that you did not address the fact that with more guns in the hands of citizens our crime rate had cut in half in the last 20 years something no one else has accomplished. "The fact," you say? This is a 'fact' as in hand by what demonstration? By what scientific evidence, such as would then likewise explain that crime goes up in every location that guns are less prevalent? I'm not sure that I should even bother you with such a triviality as the fact that correlation does not equate to causation. But even if it is the case that the US has reduced its crime rate vs. other countries, all of whom have aggregate less gun ownership, here is where we stand now, after all that: http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_tot_cri-crime-total-crimes If the US drop in crime rate vs. the other countries is attributable to greater gun ownership (though most people would just take it as the US having such a phenomenally high rate of crime to begin with, from which to reduce), then why is the US still so far ahead of other countries in crime stats, with their significantly less gun ownership? By this notion of yours, shouldn't the crime rates in Europe have gone up accordingly? Have you noticed in all this that guns are not banned outright in most of Europe?
