Focus,

I was just wondering whether you'd noticed that the women here, particularly, gang up on someone at a particular time of the month. I've never noticed such a thing myself, I should say. And since I still have some fondness for my life, I probably won't notice it in the future, either.

Based on my own observations, I've seen cliquey behavior on the forums. By cliquey behavior, I mean the regulars, who *are* a group in a way, displaying a somewhat elitist attitude toward new posters. I've done it myself. It's actually a fairly normal human reaction when you are part of a group, and you see someone attempting to join the group w/o learning the group's rules.

This is what I see happening here at times.

There was a thread started yesterday (I believe) by Roberto and he was treated very nicely and politely. Probably b/c he was nice and polite. (Sorry, I don't remember the name of the thread and I'm too lazy to look for it.)

As for those who come on here asking for advice, that's different. I've seen numerous forum members go out of their way to give a total stranger advice, and to (often) advise they get counseling or therapy. It's clear they care about what happens to the person. This happens frequently, even though the person asking for help is not known to the members.

I've also seen people ask for advice and get advice they did not ask for. It's a public forum, you can expect some of that. Cheating is a hot moral spot for most of us here, and most make no bones about it. I certainly don't. The members of this forum don't handle dishonest actions well. Personally, I consider that a good thing. It certainly flies in the face of so many who think people into BDSM have no ethics.

Then there are those who say they are asking for advice, but really they want validation for their own personal brand of bull shit. Yeah, we don't do that so well either.

Do some of these threads turn into entertainment value for the posters? Of course, it's why most of us are here.

BTW: They whole 'the chicks ganged up on me' thing is just plain laughable.

JMO, YMMV, yada yada yada

Im running low in Focus induced intelligence

What is really starting to get to me with you is that, yes, there are a few... few... who are into the attack mode almost all the time. Think its not noticed? of course it is... but its not the majority of women on these threads. You know me, I call em out on that bullshit when its aimed at me. But Im not here to protect the newer people. I answer questions to the best of my ability. Sure, I get snarky every once in a while. Even had a post pulled yesterday (politics) for making the poster the topic.

What I find interesting is, as I looked around at the other threads, the amount of men who are playing into the attack mode.... via agreement with others. Its not always subtle.... and yet no one seems to notice... or mind.

Now, I really have to wonder how much of this "discussion" for you is personal.

But as to the other. Honestly, if we were discussing a newbie who posted they were into..say... impregnating their 18 year old slave. No issue, right? Then you discover that said slave is also their daughter because its on their profile. Do you still not have an issue?

Should only one person speak out against that?

Should no one because its a kink and they are both adults?

In that scenario, I could care less what two adults screw... as long as both are adults and both are consenting, with the legal ability to consent. I would have massive issues with the impregnation part and would be quite vocal about that aspect. Its my field. if I and 3 others speak out against that part, and others speak out against the "incest"... is it still ganging up?

Actually, your post in 38 didnt cover my question.

Not being the kinda Dom who'd intentionally get under a sub's skin....

Scratch that.

Well yeah, your question is predominantly a hypothetical. I didn't address your actual hypothetical but between here and those 2 other related threads, I felt sure you'd have the gist of my views by now.

It's a matter of where the line is drawn. The Mods have their version and I had my own. Not being one to turn a blind eye to a cowardly attack, to "cross the street" etc makes me a White Knight, apparently. I'd venture there's a line in there, too. <shrugs>

Anyway, a common theme to a particular topic question becomes a gang attack on the person asking the question. Blaming me for harping on about it is to blame that newbie OP for keeping the thread going by not running away. I'm wrong and she's wrong because there are more saying the opposite? And this is where I point out that I never once said any of you were wrong for your views on cheating, but the way those views were being expressed, yeah, I said plenty.

Sexyred openly stated she didn't address the topic at all because the topic had been done "adnauseum". Apparently I'm to conclude that even more CM regulars piling into that newbie OP had yet to be done "adnauseum" enough.

Give up?

Focus.

Yep, I caught that too. I bet if you shift through that thread again, you can find about 3 others that might fit your complaint. The rest? Nope, not in my opinion.

The problem is, your attack on the mob mentality was a blanket attack. Why not address the individuals? They certainly do not have a problem addressing the OP. I could run down the list... you seem to believe people are blind. Im not blind, nor am I stupid, and I really resent being treated as such. You cloaked your attack in a manner you felt would have the biggest effect in shutting people up. Problem was, you were trying to shut up those who never should have been a part of your attack.

I'm also very capable of walking into my own shit-storms.

WTF? You caught what? Are you being a total hypocrite or what?

Wow, I think you have drank the Focus Kool-Aid since I was out all day.

Why are you even discussing me?

I have been completely upfront about what I said, why I said it and now somehow, I have become the Queen of Mob Mentality.

That is hilarious.

Honestly, I could give a fuck what you or Focus think about my posting; only the Mods have a say in that.

You are being hypocritical because you are at the heart of many of these fun threads and now you are agreeing with Focus, who seems obsessed with my posts for some unknown reason.

Im sorry... did you or did you NOT post what he said you did? Or do I have that wrong? Since when did you ever mistake me for someone who would deny the truth, especially when its exactly what was posted?

So, because I agreed that you did, in fact, post what he said you posted, I am the hypocrite?

Attention?

Let's see, I once started a topic in "Ask a Mistress" called "Dommes and Doggie Sex".

In the fat threads, I've said how I'm not attracted to BBW's.

Had plenty to say to and about American gun-humpers over in P & R. (lol, the spell-check is suggesting gun 'hummers')

And in 9 years of predominantly coming to CM for the discussion forums, you've got double my posts in less time and tazzy's got 5 times yours again.

"Active" is relative - a matter of whether the boards have interesting topics. And I have phases where they simply don't, IMO. I also have the rare ability to 'X' out of a topic just because I've got nothing to add to the discussion.

And this "personal" bizzo, yeah, I don't like bullies and never have. I'm also familiar with and been the target of mob feeding frenzies on Internet Forums - here, bondage.com and the old bdsm-online. I'm not a turner of the other cheek and I won't run. And when 10 different posters have a dig at me, I don't feel obliged to type 10 replies to their individual one.

So yeah, there was a time when getting mobbed was stressful. You tell yourself how illogical that stress is since you only hafta switch off the screen and it's gone. But the logic is flawed - it's the damned mirror I can't switch off.

I've been at it too long for any mob pile-on to get to me. But that's not to say I don't have some empathy for newbie's getting subjected to it. As I said in one of those other threads, sites like CM grow and thrive on the back of their ability to attract new blood, not by becoming an elitist club of old stagers where any newbie better walk softly and generally keep their mouth shut.

Me, as long as ol' mate in the mirror says I'm within my own principles, conscience and beliefs etc, the biggest, loudest, most viral Internet mob is only firing blanks. Good luck to 'em with that.

Focus.

Because it's individuals acting on a common theme. And as I just said to sexyred, I'm neither obliged nor so stupid as to feel I should make 10 responses to their individual one. If they're acting as a mob (and they were IMO), I address them/it as such and just choose individual posts to make my point.

As for the rest here; about you apparently being blind and stupid and of me "cloaking" anything etc - I concede you've completely lost me....

Who care's about this being some popularity contest. So everywhere has its cliques and groups. Collarchat is certainly no different. I guess the old saying "agree to disagree" no longer applies itself. The problem with "popularity contests",which is what Collarchat has become, is that you can't please everyone.

So I say something someone may agree with and the next topic, I say something that person disagrees with and now there are some hurt feelings. Why? If someone isn't personally offending, insulting or breaking any other TOS rules, then whatever happened to "agree to disagree"?

Im an equal opportunity bitch... to just about everyone at some point or another. I call bullshit when I see it. And I have no problem when they do it to me. I concede many points, and often agree when the Mods send me those pretty gold bordered letters.... rare, but I do get them.

When someone is just being stupid, I feel no reason to be "nice". When they show a willingness to learn, I will often try to help.

And, yes, I jumped a newbie tonight on another thread. In fact, one of the threads you are speaking about. So, give me my prison stripes and call me a mobster if you wish.

I will proudly wear it over the last one.
