i don't think there has been a controled and/or accurate and overall study regarding BDSMers & who weighs in at what, etc. i think that many could agree that many BDSMers, regardless of sexual orientation do not fall within the thin, average or not underweight categories. Even without a study, i think most would note that thin to underweight people are a minority. More people in society are overweight than not. It beats me how a minority group could assume the role of the majority.

my personal opinion:

1.Outter appearances are so VERY overrated. Regardless of how pretty the outside wrapping, if the stuff found inside of the package is ugly and conflicts with the outter ... i lose interest pretty damn quickly.
2.i don't wish to point a direct finger at anyone .... BUT, what i wish more people would be able to wrap their heads around: It's just as much of an insult to express negative opinions and derogatory remarks, or unwanted attention toward the size of thin/skinny/underweight people .... as it is to express negative opinions and derogatory remarks, or unwanted attention toward the size of those who are heavy/overweight.
3.Whether thin/underweight or heavy/overweight we're speaking of people who have feelings.
4.It would be a great thing if more people concerned themselves with not stepping on the feelings of others rather than what other people weigh.

I keep telling people to either do an actual study, present the resulting numbers, and than try to find the correlating factors... I also keep advising to go in person to a party, and ask the overweights this question to satisfy their curiosity, but no one listens to me. *Shrugs*

This question is always personal (in my opinion), because I don't think anyone would care about the preponderance/overabundance of something they considered lofty/valuable/beautiful. The other thing that chafes me about this, is that the question is rarely/never about underweight/overweight/impotent/short/poor/underendowed men, and I wonder how objective/detached all the intellectuals would be if it were. M

Wow, maybe you should try sticking to what is actually posted instead of trying to mindread the thoughts or the "connotations" of the poster. I didn't see anywhere that he said anything about large people not having the right to be naked. I didn't even see where he voiced an opinion one way or another as to whether he thought a 400-600 lb naked body is aesthetically pleasing.

I think it's never about that because it's never observed.

We DO get the question "What about so many smokers in bdsm?" and "What about so many past abused people in bdsm?" and other sorts of similar questions.

I think people question what they notice. Sometimes what they notice jives with other people's noticing and sometimes it doesn't. But enough people seem to notice and there might at least be something to what they are saying.

I just want to state that I didn't find your initial post offensive. Haven't read all the stuff in between, but it didn't seem mean-spirited, at least what I read. I actually mentioned to Daddy that there were many larger folks at the dungeon we went to this weekend, and that it was nice to see people of all shapes and sizes playing and being played with. I notice bigger folks cuz I am one, and tend to notice those who look like me. I am also in an interracial relationship and I notice other mixed couples first as well. That's just me.

Dear sixstrokes, Ladies and Gentlemen;

To ask "Why" of any social and or civilization choices is going to give you as many responses as there are 'classes' of people.

In my mind's eye, the attraction is perhaps that there is more acknowledged goals in BDSM, S&M, D/s and or M/s is to find your (in general terms) happiness. How it is done is not from external pressure but internal inspiration.

The fact that the lifestyle acknowledges openly, that nobody is perfect and that the respect, communication and the invitation to be yourself for a chance, gives an opportunity to exchange perfection for happiness.

As for me, I am a product of two family branches that are 'round' as well as medications that ballooned me up as well as past injuries. Stress also adds to weight so, that is why I attempt to avoid it.

In addition, I will further add to the personal experiences I have had through my life. When I was skinny and looked 'hot' per se, I was nothing but an arm charm to men. When I was in a auto wreck and disabled for a while, my weight ballooned these so called friends abandoned me. I haven't changed inside ladies and gentlemen--just my package. I find those who see me for my nature enjoy me for who I am and not the beauty I am not. In addition, with my weight; I have more weight and power behind my whip, cane and paddle strokes as to knock a man off balance if I so choose. I am not dragged about by my toy bags like my sweet skinny former slave, to which five gym bags worth are a bit heavy.

Perhaps the beauty of being overweight, is that there is more to offer others that do not have a weight issue. It is only one form of current society's prejudice, to which is not seen as a 'hate crime' as it should be when those of us are harassed, given un-equal standing. Blacks who are targeted have special attention--so do other groups that are protected, such as the disabled. Perhaps through all the whispers, the dirty tricks and dirty deals, the prejudice, the pain and injuries regardless of how anybody got to be overweight to try to have a normal life per se--the silent suffering in dignity gives those who are overweight the epitome example of grace.

Oh it's observed trust me, LMAO... It's just that most couth people know better than to start threads (with hidden underlying premises

) without explaining why they were colecting such personal information in the first place.

I'm not saying the OP is incorrect in his observation. What I am saying is that this question is never about someone wanting scientific evidence to support a hypothesis. If it were, than they shouldn't/woudn't fear walking up to random strangers and asking "why are you fat, and is that the reason you are into BDSM?" M
