I think the non believer types who try and get others not to believe are in part driven by the true believers whose mission it seems is to force their beliefs down everyone else's throat, that what they see as believers is fundamentalists who want to teach the earth is 6000 years old as science, that man and everything else popped out in 7 days, and that scientific observation and theory that conflicts with what a bronze age nomadic people wrote about the earth is automatically wrong....they do so because of the history of religion conflicting with human achievement and knowledge, from the Catholic Church clinging to the belief that the earth was the center of the solar system and universe into the 20th century, to the fundamentalist trying to pervert the very meaning of science.

I am not condoning what they do, I find those who deride all people of faith are as irritating as those who want to tell me I am going to hell because I don't believe their version of God .........because people of faith are varied, and most simply have their beliefs but don't try to force others to believe them.

On the other hand, speaking as someone who is different, I would generally feel a lot more comfortable with the non believers in terms of my life, because most atheists and agnostics don't have the hangups religious people often do with sex or being different, conformity is a hallmark of orthodox religion, not atheism or agnosticism, so I can understand where non believers are coming from given how LGBT people and others who don't conform have been treated by 'people of faith'

Some of the more zealous anti-religion crowd remind me of this. You're trapped in the kitchen at a party. By a guy telling you, at great length, how he hates his ex girlfriend and he doesn't love her any more and he doesn't know what he ever saw in her. And she means nothing to him now and is irrelevant to his life. And he does this for hours and hours.

I am not religious, I am Christian. I make mistakes every day!!! Every day. I do things, say things, or don't do things, and later regret it sometimes. It is part of being conSCIENCous.

However, whenever, whatever, leads you to Gods words, give you truth and peace and joy, even in hard times, I think its great, like the best thing in the entire world. But if you don't believe, its okay, we just would love for you too, and simply pray you will receive a calling for whatever reason to do so. If not, then no arguments, its your right, choice, to do as you wish. We are not you, we have no idea what is inside your soul.
