That's not what I said.

Martin "had options," but Zimmerman, having been instructed not to pursue, but doing so anyway, had no options, then.

not directed told he didn't have to which he responded ok then stated he had lost track of Martin.

Which was a polite form of instruction, but in any event we can clearly hear Zimmerman's footsteps and heavy breathing on the 911 recording as he continued pursuit of Martin, while he said "OK" to the dispatcher, and for some discernible amount of time afterward.

Arturas -> RE: UNMODERATED ZIMMERMAN (7/13/2013 11:28:07 AM)

How do you play this game, do you just pick a side and then support it even when it gets crazy to do so? So when it becomes clear Martin was not a 12 year old being followed but a near man who assaulted the neighborhood watch guy that night and is killed in self defense you still pretend it is illegal to follow people and that someone must follow a 911 operator's instruction and if a neighborhood watch guy gets out of his vehicle and follows a person in the neighborhood it is him that is committing some crime? And so even if this makes no sense the goal is to spend hours on here pretending you have a life somewhere else but just want to spend twelve hours a day here convincing everyone that right is wrong and they are wrong and therefore right but it does not matter because he did not stay in his truck and therefore should serve thirty years and you win?

Well damn! It was a videophone and you saw the recording? Why wasn't this brought into evidence?

Or should I be asking you post some winning lottery numbers.

No, but you did say previously that "it cuts both ways," as implication being that the person trying to evade what he reasonably perceives as criminal aggression has 50% responsibility for whatever the outcome.

He lost Martin both of them said so and Martin, in spite of all fantasies to the contrary, initiated the violence.
Further he was under no obligation to follow the dispatchers advice.

In another case in Florida a woman had locked herself in the bedroom and asked the dispatcher if she could shoot the intruder when they finished breaking down the door.
The dispatcher said I can't tell you to do that.
So I guess the woman is a murderer.
No wait the intruder was white. Never mind

I think both had options, both made choices based on misperceptions of the other's intent, and a tragic result ensued.

oh ffs, if you are being followed/stalked the last thing in the fn world you want is for that person to find out where you live... there is no way I would have gone home had I been in Martin's shoes..

What Should I Do If I Am Being Stalked?
If someone is following you, never go home.

http://www.safehorizon.org/index/get-help-8/for-stalking-36/what-should-i-do-if-i-am-being-stalked-4.html

Now you're a mind-reader? If someone was following me, what I would want to do is lose them. As soon as I lose them, I'm on my way. And just for the record, to qualify as stalking requires more than one instance. First item on the what-to-do list you linked is: "Keep a log of incidents." That little "s" on the end means it's plural. See how that works?

K.

lol If someone was following you? I have been followed, I know what that feels like.. You might be on your way, I would not be.. If possible I would hide out behind a fence or bushes for a long time until I was sure the stalker was actually gone, then I would cautiously look around to make sure it was actually ok to go home..

Stalking actually starts with one incident, if the stalker finds out where you live it can lead to many more.. see how that works?

Stalking requires more than one incident see how it works?

Guess what. There are more than just one definition for the word "stalking", and most of them do not require more than one incident.

According to Dictionary.com

Stalking:

to proceed in a steady, deliberate, or sinister manner
to proceed through (an area) in search of prey or quarry
to proceed or spread through in a steady or sinister manner

These could pretty well all describe Zimmerman's actions that night...and not one of them requires more than one incident to be accurate.

~FR

Recognizing Suspicious Activity
BE ALERT. Anything that seems slightly “out of place” or is occurring at an unusual time of day could be criminal activity. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO APPREHEND A PERSON COMMITTING A CRIME OR TO INVESTIGATE A SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. Call the police or sheriff’s department immediately, and do not worry about being embarrassed if your suspicions prove to be unfounded. Law enforcement officers would rather investigate than be called when it is too late

Confrontations with Intruders

Develop the habit of surveying your home as you approach it. If you note evidence that someone has broken in, DO NOT ENTER. Go to the nearest telephone and call the police or sheriff’s department. Should you confront a burglar, the very first rule is: GET OUT OF HIS WAY!! Never get between a burglar and the exit, and never try to stop him. It may cost you your life!

Citizen Patrols

Patrol members should be trained by law enforcement. It should be emphasized to members that they do not possess police powers and they shall not carry weapons or pursue vehicles. They should also be cautioned to alert police or deputies when encountering strange activity. MEMBERS SHOULD NEVER
CONFRONT SUSPICIOUS PERSONS WHO COULD BE ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

Patrol Procedures

5. The purpose of community patrol is to observe and report only. Patrol members should not leave their vehicle or become involved with a suspect

7. Patrol members should not challenge anyone. The patrol’s visual presence should be a deterrent to most criminal activity. If a suspicious situation continues, patrol members should call law enforcement professionals and request assistance.

11. Patrol members do not carry weapons.

My friend The Most Reverend Al Sharpton. Where does he fit in on this and where was he that night?
BTW, is he a TV preacher who does news or is he a news person who does TV preaching like Nancy Grace? Does he pass the plate and does that money pay for his trips down to Florida so that he can let us crackers know that "we" love our children too. Thank you, Al. I did not realize that. It is good you shouted that to "us" on prime time TV.

Did I say anything about "seeing" an audio recording?

One would expect better reading skills from an English major. Seriously.

All these pages and yet no one has asked:

How long will the jury deliberate? When do you think they reach a verdict?
