SYG is not relevant to this case.

I realize that.... thats what Butch and I are saying... we have no issue with a personal defense case... however we both, or I know I do, with SYG.

Somebody bashing cops, and rape/abuse/stalker victims who arm themselves again? Snore.

Of course they are out there. Gun owners dont believe in personal responsibility. The bad guys get em from the good guys, and you guys just pat each other on the backs, wink and nod and carry on about your business.

That's it. Blame law abiding citizens for the actions of criminals. Good call.

Powergamz1 -> RE: UNMODERATED ZIMMERMAN (7/13/2013 10:18:29 PM)

Odd how the Judge noticed that too, hmm?

Amazing isn't it?

I own a gun.

I have been blaming them all along.

Do I need to pull up all the recent children's deaths to prove my point?

Oh so you're just blaming inanimate objects then? Got it.

And no, no need to pull up things that are irrelevant to the current topic.

Then simply substitute those two cities for Detroit and New Orleans and the point stands.

So now Detroit and New Orleans have the strictest gun laws?

Not relevant in this case as it wasn't used as a defense. Hard to stand your ground when you are walking away....or on the ground getting pummeled.

Detroit has very strict laws and New Orleans confiscated all the registered firearms they could after Katrina.

More strict than Florida or Texas.

Irresponsible but legal gun owners....

Investigators say the gun that fired, killing a 10-year-old boy was loaded and not secured contrary to a recent statement made by the gun's owner.

A pistol in the hands of a 4-year-old boy went off Saturday, killing Josephine Fanning, the 48-year-old wife of Wilson County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Fanning.

The tragedy has shaken the town of Lebanon, Tennessee, a community just east of Nashville beside itself with grief.

Days after the Tennessee shooting, the intersection between children and guns emerged again, this time in Toms River, New Jersey.

A 4-year-old boy shot another boy, age 6, in the head with a .22-caliber rifle Monday night. They were playing in a yard, police said. The boy died Tuesday.

Updated at 10 a.m. ET: STANWOOD, Wash. -- The 7-year-old daughter of a Marysville police officer died Sunday after being shot by her young sibling on Saturday.

Police say at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, two children were left alone in a van parked just off Highway 532 in Stanwood.

There was a gun in the car. One of the children picked up the gun and accidentally shot the other.

Snohomish County Sheriff's Department says the van and gun is registered to a member of the Marysville Police Dept. The young girl is the daughter of the officer.

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. - Authorities say the 3-year-old son of a suburban St. Louis police officer fatally shot himself accidentally in the chest with the law enforcer's personal gun.

So, kdsub brings up a valid point.

Is there a rational and fact based way to make the next Zimmerman type person think twice before reaching into his waistband, and the next Martin type person not pursue a physical fighting advantage to the point of really hurting someone?

Is there a real world equivalent of 'Red!!'?

Pst... I already did. And, I find it extremely relevant since you decided to open this line of debate on an unmoderated thread. [;)]

People die because other people own guns and they arent secured.

Children die because cops dont secure them... and they should definitely know better.

Gun sales are private and hidden because people want that fast, easy money... and dont give a fuck who they sell them too.

Yet you dont want to hear all that because it flies in the face of what you want to believe.

Go figure.

I knew you'd do it anyway, despite the irrelevance. LoL

Do you truly not understand that an accidental death and murder are two different things?

http://americablog.com/2013/06/ohio-cops-shoots-five-kittens-euthanize.html

I realize this is two abominable pet stories in one day, but a reader just sent me this story, and I’m beside myself. This is possibly even worse than the poor turtle that got beaten to death on a Wisconsin golf course while trying to lay it eggs. In this case, a cop claims that he had no choice to but to shoot five kittens outside a woman’s home in order to “euthanize them.”

Oh, and he did it with children nearby, listening to the carnage.

A 4-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed himself with his father's gun in north Houston early Sunday morning.

Jaiden Pratt was spending the weekend with his father, 21-year-old Marquiez Pratt, in the 13500 block of Northborough, just south of West Rankin, when the accident occurred, said Sgt. Brian Harris with the Houston Police Department's homicide department.

Father and son had been sleeping on the couch. The young boy woke up and picked up his father's handgun lying nearby, shooting himself in the stomach, police said. Neighbors heard the shot.

A 4-year-old Minneapolis boy found his parents' loaded handgun, began to play with it and shot his younger brother in Minneapolis on Wednesday, Dec. 5, police said.

The 2-year-old died as emergency medical personnel were trying to save him.

Investigating police said they would turn their findings over to Hennepin County prosecutors to see if charges should be forthcoming; it is illegal to store a loaded firearm where a child might get to it.

*I* opened it? Bullshit. Ken made the outrageous claim that when concealed carry was illegal "everyone survived" which is bullshit because you don't survive when you've been murdered.

kdsub -> RE: UNMODERATED ZIMMERMAN (7/13/2013 10:33:26 PM)

I consider self defense defending myself my family and my property when I am minding my own business not when I am minding someone else's. Basically that is what this law enabled and Zimmerman was aware of this law when he went looking for trouble with a gun.

I've nothing against using a weapon for defense when trouble comes looking for me but it should not be used in the way Zimmerman used it legal or not... Now I am fully aware this is just my opinion and you will never agree with me... So be it.

Butch

There you go again... attacking and insulting people by waving reality and facts in their face like a red flag. Don't you know they'll never leave if you keep that up?
