I'm sick and tired of the namby-pamby 'n-word' bullshit. Of course, the spamfilter here won't let you type out the word itself, thus:

"To 'The-Man', we're all just n*ggers" -- that's the take away. How different sub-groups get fucked over and how that friction is exploited by "The Man" is, of course, the 'meta-issue' here.

I find it deplorable that anyone would use it in any context. Its demeaning, belittling and meant to do nothing more than to incite anger.

Dont come down on my for what you consider the "man" to be doing. Thats ridiculous. We determine our own course of action by rising above that rhetoric and proving to others that we arent the typical "whites" who are using that to make others feel like they are less.

Have some fucking manners and some guts and put aside the baseless use of slurs.. rise above it and become a man of integrity and honor.

Well, I'm back from the weekend. I see that this thread, not surprisingly, has exploded. Well, I'm not about to read through - what twenty, thirty pages? - to get caught up so I am just going to say this:

I am absolutely disgusted by the verdict.

Apparently it is now open season on black boys who have the audacity to walk down the street at night.

Bonus points if they don't get along with their mothers, do poorly in school, or don't give the polite explanations that they owe to meddling strangers.

That is all I've got to say for now.

At whom is this 'slur' intended for, exactly?

I mean, if you remember George Carlin's whole thing, THERE ARE NO BAD WORDS.

There are bad feeling. There are bad intentions.

So, if it is -- as charged -- a slur, it must be from bad feeling or intent? So I ask you, who make the charge, against whom exactly is my use of the word N*gger a slur?

And an answer of "An Entire Class", proves my point. If I'm advocating for SOCIAL Justice ( as opposed to legal justice ), how could I be slurring the class I'm advocating for. Jews and Blacks have a long history in this struggle. Never Forget that. Holocausts don't always require ovens.

It doesnt have to be "directed" at anyone to produce that reaction in many... thats what you arent getting. Nor is Carlin my guru on what is appropriate to say in public .... he was a fucking comedienne paid to say what he did.. and the more outrageous he was, the more money he made.

ethnic slurs (ethnophaulisms)... An ethnic or racial slur typically caricaturing some identifiable (often physical) feature of the group being derided.

Its intent is to demean and belittle a group of people who are different from you. No matter how you intended it.. that doesnt matter one bit. Cracker.. as in the kind you put a piece of cheese on, holds no power. But direct that towards white people... individually or as a group...has the same effect.

Why do you feel the need to stoop to that level to get your point across? Because you intended to illicit a response.. anger... upset... agitation... what have you... but the intent was the same.
