It is not my insensitivity which causes your reaction. It is YOUR REACTION. Your thoughts and experiences, upon reading my words. You must understand it yourself. Or not. But consider the situation carefully before consigning an entire CONCEPT, THOUGHT, IDEA, WORD to the "memory hole"...

Again, it's not the words that are bad. It's the intent behind the usage. It is the feeling. And if you're going to excise a word from the lexicon, you better consider that it's the context that's relevant. The Word isn't bad, it's how it's used. And if it's been used to program a knee-jerk rejection, that's something to think about, isn't it?

I don't believe I've ever suggested that. You're free to do whatever you want to. You might think about the difference between words, intent, and feelings however, and whether or not you've been 'programmed' according to someone else's goals.

Because the reactions in most people are WELL known. And yet you persist, knowing what the reactions will be, and praying for just those reactions. You dont get a pass by insisting you arent responsible for other people's reactions when they are known... and counted upon.

Does it make you feel more powerful? No, I'm not, but you haven't REPLIED TO CARLIN'S POINT. NOR have you replied to my request for you to explain how, in contrast to your claim, Blazing Saddles does not use the word N*gger solely as a slur.

What the hell? If your intent was to say that black lawyers are inferior and Zimmerman had enough money to pay white ones, this disproves you.

If your intent was to say that blacks cannot afford good lawyers, refer to the OJ case.

If your intent was to say that the state itself could not afford to get a decent prosecutor, then you may have a point. The prosecution was awful. But that's not a racial issue.

Zimmerman isn't INNOCENT.

Zimmerman was found not guilty of a limited set of charges, given the jury instructions they were limited by.

Zimmerman walked because the laywers on both sides constructed instructions which specifically ommitted the relevant included lesser charge, and no the jurors didn't care enough to ask why not.

But after Amadou Diallo's killers walked, giving juries instructions hand-crafted to avoid guilty verdicts has been part of the toolkit.

I can certainly see how his comments about various types of lawyers could be misconstrued by a newbie but us Collarme veterans should be familiar with farglecarb by now.

You've all been here long enough to know that outrageous, over-the-top, highly sarcastic, rhetoric is his stock and trade.

Yes, I can see how, even knowing that, some might still be offended (personally, I think the N-word should not be used at a matter of simple civility) but let's bear in mind that the farglebargles of the world are not the one's looking at black boys walking down the street and thinking "uh oh," and thus initiating a chain of of events leading to their deaths.

ETA: Let us direct our anger where it belongs. At the legal system that let down this young man and the racist shitheads who applaud his successful killing.
