Another example of lack of respect for life by teenagers.

I know I should look, but I can't bring myself. What a world.

Do we know this for sure? I thought the article said the two teens were persons of interest?

Politesub53 -> RE: Bored in Oklahoma (8/23/2013 5:03:31 PM)

Maybe it was Martians. Two teens did it the ones who they are persons of interest, maybe not the right teenagers.

It should.
Some people do not acknowledge evil, it was for their benefit.

Wasnt so long ago that a teenager had such lack of respect for life that he was killed for wearing a hoodie and drinking tea.

Did he have one or two lumps of sugar in his tea?

How did Zimmerman know he was drinking tea?
That is like saying Zimmerman got beat up for getting an loaf of bread.

I dislike liberal lefty 'progressive' types because they usually skew the facts of a situation to suit their own altered view of reality.

Closer to the topic, 46-year-old Pat Mahaney of North College Hill, OH, died last month. A year ago this month he was walking home from the store with a 6-pack of beer, looking forward to watching a ball game, when he was attacked by six feral teenagers. Knocked unconscious, they continued to beat him until a neighbor told them he was calling the police. Mahaney spent four days in the hospital, and never fully recovered from the beating.

The teens said they attacked Mahaney because they were bored and looking for something to do.

Although I think my example is relevant, yours is better.
I like the term "feral teenagers" it sums up in two words what I spent half a page trying to say.

No outrage from Jesse Jackson

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/08/21/jesse-jackson-tweets-that-killing-of-chris-lane-frowned-upon/

I think it’s obvious for America to see that black on white killing isn’t important for Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton because there’s no money in it for them.

We may yet see some outrage from Jackson or Sharpton. I hear they are charging the white guy with a lesser charge than the 2 black guys, accessory to murder. The 2 black guys are being charged with murder one. In an interview I watched with the DA he said the white guy who was the driver is cooperating. According to all the pundants I've heard, lawyers and prosecutors, they say that all 3 should be charged with murder one as they have enough evidence even without his cooperation. Ya think it's likely that this will eventually be construed as racism ?

Of course

One is bi racial, one is white, one is black,
All three should be charged with murder
My thoughts are with the victims families

tweakabelle -> RE: Bored in Oklahoma (8/24/2013 12:05:03 AM)

Whatever the rights and wrongs seriously of it, Zonie's point - that political forces will prevent any attempt to impose serious gun control -reflects today's political reality. So where does that leave us? Are there any points of agreement that will allow us to form a strategy that might successfully put a dent in gun crime and violence?

To begin with, I would like to draw attention to two points that seem to me to be relevant but rarely get mentioned in these discussions. The US has the world's highest incarceration rate, with over 2 million currently in prison, and another >4 million in the criminal justice system, presumably on parole or serving non-custodial sentences. So, whatever it merits or demerits, imprisonment isn't working. At the very least we might agree that it has no discernible deterrent value.

The second point is that, compared to other countries, the US welfare system is minimal. It seems reasonable to infer that levels of desperation among the marginalised are greater, which can be expected to feed into the crime rate.

I hope that all sides of this discussion can agree that limiting the availability and use of (overwhelmingly illegal) guns in the public domain is at the core of this discussion. Perhaps concentrating on this might enable a more productive conversation.

I watched this programme the other day, http://www.channel4.com/programmes/12-year-old-lifer/episode-guide
12 year old lifer....Enchanted Hills in Indiana, USA, 12-year-old Paul Gingerich helped his friend, 15-year-old Colt Lundy, shoot and kill Colt's stepfather.
Fascinating stuff, came out of it with more questions than it answered.
I never saw any outcry from anyone over this..... why???

Then this morning I came across a picture, I wont show it here because it has a child in it, but it is integral to the point...
