No shame in my game. 46. Six feet flat, buck seventy. Wear thirty one inch jeans, same size I did in high school.
Oh yeah, getting grey. Worse, receding...like my maternal grandpa.
Fuck.
I'm so screwed

ROFL, better measure accurately. I learned reading a dating site recently that apparently 6' is some magic number and men lie to get there and yes, someone mentioned people 5-11" as lying about being 6'. My immediate thought was, "Sheez, do these people walk around with tape measures?" But yeah, lest you cover yourself in dishonor I'd recommend getting an accurate measurement and then be sure to report it to the nearest quarter inch.

Hate to say it, but it's the dead truth. I'm annoying normal...at least externally.
Don't even have any ink

ForgetToRemember -> RE: How old are you really? (8/29/2013 7:32:22 PM)

It never occured me to lie online...although I didn't know that this site doesn't auto-update age. I'll have to check that every so often. It kind of disturbs me that some woman are saying they take two inches off a guy's height and penis length, then add 5 years to their age...What are guys supposed to do if they're trying to be honest? You are essentially rewarding the LIARS by subtracting / adding to their stats - because they will be better than the people who aren't lying. So you take two people who have the same stats:

5'10", 6" Cock (though I don't know who would actually advertise this in their main profile) and 30 years old. So, guy number one tells the truth. Guy number two lies and says they're 25, 6' with an 8" Cock.

Woman looking at these two guys see the following:
Guy #1: 5'8" 4" Cock, 35 years old.
Guy #2: 5'10" 6" Cock, 30 years old.

As you can clearly see, despite these two guys having identical stats, the person who is telling the truth (the guy that woman would WANT to be with), looks way worse on paper and may get ignored because of their stats.

Therefore, I really hope that woman don't do this. Give everyone a chance, give them the benefit of the doubt and you will have a lot more 'surprisingly good' men in your life.

Personally I'm glad they DO do it. Any woman who would do such a thing is near de-facto dishonorable and would never be an appropriate match for me. Think on what that means. These women are approaching the entire world assuming everyone else is dishonorable. That speaks volumes about the woman in question to me.

littlewonder -> RE: How old are you really? (8/30/2013 3:27:51 PM)

When I first met Master he said his age was something like 39. I just assumed that was his age. Then I saw his drivers license and realized he was actually like 42. Turns out he didn't realize CM never updated age. Thankfully it wasn't that big an age gap so I wasn't concerned about it. Had it been he was on CM for over 10 years and he never changed his age then I would have been upset by it and it may have even changed my mind to date him. I wouldn't have been pissed because it would not have been his fault but it really could have been a game changer for me. I really do wish CM would change that one itty bit part on their site. It really could make a difference between make or break.

I favor a more flexible view on "honor" and "lying" and related topics than is commonly talked about in online BDSM. In my experience at least, reality does not exist in absolutes. That's the realm of mathematics.

*scratches her head* So if the woman actually lies to get an advantage, that's forgivable, but if an honest woman thinks that the man is lying then that somehow makes *her* dishonourable and that's completely unforgivable?

I subscribe to a philosophy in which people are responsible for their own lies, and not responsible for the lies of others. Nor should they be penalised for reasonable suspicion on a website such as this, or would you recommend they believe everything they are told? *shakes her head*

That's why I mentioned about the profile side not changing the age automatically. I didn't mean to come off as if it was your fault. I did state that you just didn't know they don't change the age automatically like most sites do. If you would have lied intentionally then we most likely would not be together.

DOM68005 -> RE: How old are you really? (9/2/2013 7:51:57 AM)

In the past, I was guilty of not updating my age, because I assumed the site did auto-update it. When I discovered that not to be so, I updated it and re-verified other information in my profile.

My information may be verified when I meet someone face to face. I'm not likely to send a copy of my Driver's license over the net.

No.

If someone lies to get an advantage then my assessment of that is going to be highly situational (rather than the much more boolean discussions here).

If someone thinks a specific person is lying then that is their judgement call.

When someone thinks 50% of the human race is lying I back away slowly.

Approximately 99.99 % of the men I've met from here have lied about their age; deliberately, not just overlooking the need to manually update it. Most by 3-5 years, one by 9 (he said he was 47 but later admitted to being 56). All of the men have given me the same reason for their lie: that the number of women who will respond to their messages here drops precipitously after their posted age is 50+.

What it tells me is that those men will lie to get what they want. It is an excellent thing to know about them from the outset.

I turned 49 next month, I better start making hay with the ladies.

Same here. I've lied about my age in the past when meeting people, I admit that. :(

But on an online forum? Why bother? It's not like a few years are going to give the wrong impression here. I'm 32 and I'm still fit! [8D]

ResidentSadist -> RE: How old are you really? (9/9/2013 2:10:24 AM)

I often lie by 1 year. I have other things to do on my birthday than update my online profiles. Later in the year I usually catch it and update it.

As far as someone in their 60s trying to pass for 40s, hell if I know why they do it. Age is a petty thing more often than not. However, being a a desperate creepy creepy old codger that is willing to lie and trying fool someone into giving up a piece of ass is not petty. It's just weird and creepy and insulting that they think you won't catch on when you see their wrinkled up old ass in person. Anyone stupid enough to start off by lying to someone and insulting their intelligence . . . well, you get the point.

Domnotlooking -> RE: How old are you really? (9/9/2013 7:06:34 AM)

Isn't the internet dating etiquette/assumption that every person now advertising is a flat out liar and or wishful thinker? And just like here, many ads haven't been even glanced at since the person tossed them up on a whim.

I know a guy who hasn't updated his ad in 3 years. He keeps talking about how he's a hard working stiff, dedicated to supporting his (then) 17 year old daughter. She departed 2 years ago and hates him. Lots of women are impressed by his parental dedication.

I have his password and regularly laugh at the very nice woman earnestly writing him -whom he never responds to, since he rejects any women larger than a size 4. But on paper, he does present as a deeply sincere, goody-good guy.

In 2013, it's hard to believe that anyone is surprised about lying on the internet.

littlewonder -> RE: How old are you really? (9/9/2013 7:29:46 PM)

wow...stealing passwords...and you think that guy is fucked up.

tetonguide -> RE: How old are you really? (9/9/2013 10:22:40 PM)

Lying about anything is a direct result of insecurity. Insecurity about what the truth is....i.e. reality. People who lie can't accept their own reality and are trying to create a new one....sometimes just temporary to gain a social advantage or long term because once someone beleives the lie it needs to be perpetuated else the real "reality" not only has to be faced, you are usually faced with an angry soul since no one likes being lied to....hmmmm yet so many do (part of the human condition)
I am somewhat ashamed by the actions of so many of my fellow baby boomers....we have created, stolen, given away and destroyed more cultural and financial wealth than any previous generation on earth and now as we age far too many of us behave like cockroaches...desperately seeking rewards unearned and feining innocence when light exposes as the greedy bastards and bitches we have become.....I am 58 and have many years of experience in the lifestyle. I could give a rats ass if some submissive thinks I am too old to satisfy their need...odds are they are too young to be able to even begin to hang. I live with a 29 year old submissive and age comes up about as often as Halley's Comet comes around. Live and let live..odds are if you lie about your age you lie about lots of other stuff too...not a quality I want to be around no matter what the flesh advantage offers..just my humble opinion. Peace

NoBimbosAllowed -> RE: How old are you really? (9/19/2013 3:31:41 AM)

Har har, oh man "How old are you really?" goes along with (to the woman answering an ad) "How attached to a long-term partner are you really?" "How much of a blog-beeeeeatch wrongfully convincing your self that your are a 'journalist' doing a story on kinky people are you?" The list goes on. "How much of poster girl for the new DSM 5 are you reallllllly ...?"

I always subtract 2 inches from stated height and penis size and add 5 years to age when I view a profile :)

I always add 25 lbs, subtract 50 iq points and increase her lady pocket circumference to that of a industrial sized bucket whenever I view a profile. :)

Touched a nerve did she?

NoBimbosAllowed -> RE: How old are you really? (9/19/2013 11:22:56 PM)

and the list can be augmented...

how big are your manboobs, really?

how much of that credit-card debt went to "mutie" comics in mylar snugs, really?

how much time went into the foam-latex accoutrement for the new Convention, really?

how much of that "art" is really done by you, versus done by some c0©kless "app", really?

although these items above seem unrelated, they really are not, because all of them come from the the same mindset that would make one lie about their age, online or "in the real".
