Hello,

I have been on this site now off & on about 10 years. I have been fortunate in the past to have had the people I met from here actually show up when I went to meet & serve them. I have noticed these past few years though a lot of the people who contact me or that I contact have not been honest with who they are though & when it comes time to meet or take things to the next level I end up getting a link to an affiliate site, some cam site, or some demands to go to another site or messenger program where they then demand money from me.

I wanted to suggest that CollarMe.com add the option/feature to validate its members meaning people can send in a copy of their Drivers License or State ID to prove they are the person in their profile. Like you see on Alt.com & a few other sites. For nothing more then peace of mind that the person you see on the profile is in fact the person you are talking to & not some random pictures that someone has googled.

Its just a thought & why should anyone have a problem with it unless they are not who they claim to be. I have nothing to hide myself.

Thanks for mentioning Alt as a part of your suggestion. It's a site that people have left in droves over the past few years.

I don't have a problem with who I claim to be. I've met close to three hundred folks who have (or had) accounts on this site. Probably by the time this thread is finished, there will be somebody on it that I've met in person, or at the very least, I've talked to by phone. I've also presented in major venues over the last six/seven years, so plenty of people have seen who I am.

The day this site starts with verification of My real name and address, I'll be off of it quicker than a pig through shit.

1) There's no way in hell I'm sending in my personal information just to able to chat on a forum.

2) This site is free and staffed by volunteers. What you're suggesting means that you'd have to pay a fee to be here, because volunteers wouldn't be able to handle the load. And I'm not paying a fee just to able to chat on a forum.

3) Providing an ID doesn't solve the issue. Some people won't post a photo on a kink site, so you can't provide a photo verification. And let's face it, it wouldn't stop people from presenting themselves as something they're not. They can still claim to be experienced, they can still claim to be single, they can still claim to be the Uber dominant/submissive/master/slave....and I would find those items to be far more important than whether the impossibly hot, kinky, 18 year old woman who is willing to be with any man is real. Because if you can't figure out that profile is fake, you need to start typing with BOTH hands.

I am a member of Alt, AFF, Passion, BoS, Fab, Fet, IC (until it closed), TSR, as well as here.

IMHO, I have found more fakes, wannabe's and time-wasters on the first 5 sites than I have on here.
And, I have never had to provide any proof of who I am either.

You also have to remember that not everyone holds a DL or other major forms of ID (passport, state ID etc).
On top of that, not everyone on here (and other sites) are resident in the US.

As LP said, the day they insist on verification, I'll be gone.

As an option it seems fine. That means you can send in ID or not. It allows people to remain anonymous. I would further suggest a small fee to process it, since it requires more time and from everything I have read it is volunteer staff that manages the site. They would have to send in a current pic with a collarme sign and date on it along with their ID.

Actually, I grew up in PA. Not too far from where another forum regular did. Farms all around the outer parts of the county.

OK, OP. I'll stop screwing around. Here's what I've always said in regard to this idea.....

The deal is that somewhere in there, your idea makes you think that this will lead to more women who are verifiable on the site. The problem is that it's not the chicks with the fake pics, etc, etc, that will be the ones who are skittish about doing this. It's the ones that you are really trying to meet up with. If you were female, how do you think you would feel about a hacker potentially getting their hands on your information? Within the last 24 hours, we've had threads started about blackmail, internet stalking, and even one where the male Dominants don't want to give strangers their IDs. Would you really want to invite all of that onto yourself if you were a woman? Or, would you just go to another site (like Fet or another CM competitor) where you can avoid all of that?

There would absolutely be a percentage of women that you would chase AWAY from the site. Ask Alt.com how good that is for business.

So because you have no reason, personal or professional, to remain anonymous on a kink site, then no one else should either, unless they're fake? Maybe you could consider widening your perspective just a bit [8|]
I second LP's pig shit speed outa here the second ID verification enters this picture.
Use your brain to spot the fakes. It isn't rocket science.

Edit: the verification requirement I'd like to see added here is IQ above room temperature.

I'm with the "outta here" crowd the second there's ID verification requirements too. I responded to another post about stalking, and while the MB I was on wasn't the source of my particular problem child getting my address, I'm not down for any more fun and games like that.

There is no way in hell Id provide my DL to be here either. In the age of identity theft that can fuck a person over for YEARS after they get ahold of your information, Im certainly not going to run the risk by bending over and handing some unknown entity the KY. Which by handing over my DL to some unknown entity, I might as well do.

My alma mater for my first degree in college had a database breach that put hundreds of us alums at risk. We had to place fraud alerts on our credit reports for all three agencies, which...if you have had to do it...absolutely fucks you over until it finally drops off. If it could happen at a major university, it can happen anywhere else...including here.

My being here is not worth that

Same thing happened to me, and double-whammy, the VA managed to lose my records too at almost the same time. Ironically, in the same fashion, by having a laptop stolen out of a parked car. I always wondered how much those two "victims" got paid to let that happen?

that's still no guarantee they are who they're representing themselves to be. It's not that hard toborro w or steal someone's drivers license and mascaraed as them.

I have nothing to hide, and i would object to that. What you are suggesting is very private information and there is no need for any website that doesn't legally need it to have it.
