Shannon Anthony Scott has been charged with murder, the Columbia Police Department reported. He turned himself in to investigators at police headquarters Wednesday afternoon.
Seventeen-year-old Darrell Andre Niles was found shot to death in his Honda Accord at 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Bonner Avenue, the police said.
Scott is accused of firing several rounds from a handgun, hitting Niles in the head with one bullet, police said.
It was the fourth time since February that a young man has been found shot to death in a car in Columbia.
