so the girls drive by and fire at his house, next Scoot comes out of his house and shoots Niles and kills him, despite Niles being nothing to do with the previous drive by. Surely this means that anybody, absolutely anybody who happened to be driving down that street at that time could have been shot and killed and according to some here it would be the girls fault that they are dead? That is what passes for the law in America? That is what passes for justice in America?

I told you, I'm sure for the SC's law he was justified, but that doesn't change the fact he acted like an irresponsible jackass from the beginning, and the law allowed him to do it, that should be quite disturbing. I know you don't care what other country do but making clear you just can't act like john wayne in his movies seems the lowest bar to me, but it seems that critizeing john wayne characters' ways is un-american so...

to be fair, DTTP, Bama is NOT justice or Law in the USA:) And as there are few other people trying to argue the points he is... I give the benefit of the doubt to the rest of the country:)

That is what passes for justice in America? witnesses gave many different versions, but for what I understood his doughter came home telling a group of girls in a white SUV thrated her and were following her, she previously called her friend Darrell Niles for help, Scotts girlfriend calls 911 and describe the car and the last place where it was spotted, meanwhile Scott go in his room, grabs his gun and go outside in the yard, the white suv approach, some witnesses say he shot first some the girls did, after the girls drove away he spots an occupied red car (we don't know if was moving or parked) and fires at that too, killing the driver.

This ties in with a quote in statement, made by one of the girls in the car. She clearly tells the police she was in the car, heard a shot and fired into the air.

I have told people here this before, and more than once. In England you can protect yourself, your home and your family and even a stranger, by the use of justifiable force. You have to then be prepared to show the force used was justifiablee and reasonable. Going out in the street and shooting at the first car that passes by would be classed as unresonable, so if there was no intent to kill, you would face a charge of manslaughter. We are a bit quaint over here and call it "protecting the public" << edited to fix parenthesis
