ORIGINAL: DomKen He is just making a very good point. It is the insurance companies that refused to bring policies into compliance with the law or made changes outside the grandfathering provisions. The government did not. how could they possibly stay the same? if the requirement for compliance is to expand coverage & include stuff that wasn't previously included, then the cost to policyholders would have to change also.. imo.. (not that I am feeling sympathy for the insurance corps cuz they should have been totally kicked to the curb in the first place, imo).. There were provisions for grandfathered policies. The insurance companies chose to cancel policies rather than stay within the guidelines. This is complete and utter bull shit. The *better* coverage, the better provider networks, the *better* doctors in the old plans could not compete with the compliant crap offered by the ACA. Bullshit. The plans that could not be grandfathered were junk plans that offered almost no coverage. All other plans that were canceled are entirely due to a choice made by the insurance company. Bullshit, You are saying the state insurance commissioners don't know what the fuck they are doing? They just allow "junk" policies? Yeah, in the Dimocrat world! And please give us the names of hospitals that refused treatment that caused the deaths of the uninsured. In sue crazy America, a hospital that refused treatment that resulted in death would be sued out of existance. Nice try though. Yes, they allow junk policies. There were policies that covered no hospitalization at all or had ridiculously low annual or lifetime limits. This woman's plan for instance: http://www.newrepublic.com/article/115457/obamacare-victim-florida-happy-she-can-get-real-coverage Hospitals refuse treatment all the time. The only thing they are required to do is if you come into the ER they have to stabilize you. Everything else is fee for service. That's why you see fund raisers for sick people who need some expensive surgery or treatment. And if you'r on welfare, what do you care what anything cost? Bill me, I'll surly pay! lol lol lol
