But, the Introduction forums prove that false. It's a forum where everyone is required to be nice, so they are. How many of those posters made one post, where they were welcomed (nicely) to the forums.....and they've never made another post?

Better topics with substance will come mostly from people asking questions. New members ask a lot more questions, which then allows current members to share their knowledge. This is an area I agree with RedMagic on, quality material will stand the test of time and drama topics will eventually burn out and often show some of the worst qualities of people.

A test program that I will be starting mid January will reveal more on this I hope.

My feeling is that those who turn up here and are . . . shall we call them 'undesirables' . . . won't last even in a forum where politeness and friendliness are obligatory. On the other hand, some others who are basically good people, albeit a little sensitive, might well be more likely to stick around.

What the hell. At the very least, it'll be a place where people can practise being well-mannered, to see what it feels like.

Status: offline 		It's funny. I've noticed a subtle, but definite difference in the posting in other Forums since this thread was started. Perhaps this discussion, no matter which end of the spectrum our opinions lie, has made us a little more "aware" that our words have weight.
Without scrolling through the whole thread to find out who mentioned this, is it possible we are thinking a little longer before hitting the "ok" button?

could pose those requests or questions in a way that will garner answers rather than bashing because a question might be considered wank fodder or something
along those lines. I have often thought that if an OP had only phrased a question differently, responses would have been much more helpful not just for OP
but for the lurkers as well. I'm thinking of a place where there are only questions asked.. then those are worded and put into General BDSM (or another forum)
by one of the many word-smiths we already have on the site. If a newbie didn't want to pose the question directly, they could also just go to the newbie nest parent
and email them as well and still get their questions put into the General BDSM forum without 'outing' themselves as the questioner.

Just a few things off the top of my head.

Most of us left because of the behavior of the moderators...

This site encourages fake profiles, encourages all the worst of commercial kink.

Fet sucks but ANYTHING is better than how this place is and will be run.

But I would SO love to be proven wrong as...fet sucks.

The forum staff has no influence what so ever over the main/sister site.

That would work, but it would also involve making an effort.
Which is probably exactly the reason why the mods are unlikely to do anything of the sort, especially when it's easier to change one of the member titles, and then pretend that they've achieved something constructive...

I don't think it's fair to blame the mods for the stagnant nature of the site. They're volunteers - anything which takes a significant extra investment of time or money comes down to the site owners.

The mods do a thankless job and get a lot of criticism for it. I'm grateful for them - I sure as hell wouldn't want to do it.
