So you decided to devote your focus on family, business and material things.
It's nice to know that if you bust your ass for 20 years to get into a position where you can be financially comfortable, some one will call you materialistic.

You could tell me that you feel sorry for anyone who didn't experience that type of success.
Ah, but see, I have more grace than to say something like that. Whereas, you delegate women who cannot have children to being something "less than".

I never called you "materialistic." I never said women that don't have children are "less" than. You are putting words in my mouth.

I was going to ask a question, however, after reviewing the possible ways of asking said question, I felt there was no way to ask without getting a gold letter, so I chose to refrain from asking the question.

Can I point out that I find the newly-approved epithet 'wankrabbit' to be more than a little lagomorphic?

What were the odds before the "hen party hell"?

I'm stuck on California's welfare system due to racism. But this thread isn't about me and how I support my beautiful 5 children. This is about what people do for a living. Thank you.

Really? Since this thread has already been hijacked, would you care to tell us how racism has you stuck on welfare?

I'm very interested in your answer.

BTW: I'm very aware racism exists, and feel free quality child care should be provided for all who can't afford it.

The parts of your statement that is highlighted pretty much implies materialism, and quite effectively I might add.

How does this not mean that a woman who did not give birth or raise children is not "less than?" Your statement comes from a position where you clearly feel superior to those who have not experienced this joy.

There is an old saying in my part of the country, "give a person enough rope and they will hang themselves."

Especially since he's picky about "exhorbitant" blowjobs, versus your ordinary garden variety type....
I'd have thought ALL blowjobs were exhorbitant myself.

Wow. This thread took the express train to hen-party hell.

That's one way of putting it.

Here's the thing, though. There are women out here who very much wanted children but for whatever reason were unable to have them (conceive, IFV, adopt, etc). For some of us, that reality was gut wrenching. I personally went through a grieving process in therapy.

Not anyone's problem, I get that. But we are constantly faced with hearing from moms how great, important, difficult their jobs are. And I get that. What I *don't* get is the constant "less than" message we get: "You don't know what tired is, unless your a mom." " You do t know what real, deep love is, unless you're a mom." "You don't know what difficult/worry/stress/etc. is, unless you're a mom."

Add to that, the work place. When you're the only woman working the overtime, or covering work for the moms with sick kids, etc.

Trust me when I say it gets old. And it can feel like salt on a wound. So, at times, we react to it. Especially when someone throws in, "I feel sorry for you, because you're not a mom."

I was not offended by the remark, but I didn't like it. And I admit to getting irritated at the overall message of, "Your life is not as important or fulfilling, because you're not a mom."

These days I usually chalk it up to being unenlightened, or ignorant, or really innocently meaning well. And I joke with mom friends, saying things like, "Wait. What's that I hear? Ah yes, the sound of sleeping in, in a silent house, because I'm kid-less!"

But to be referred to as a hen for saying something about it? Not cool, dude. Not cool.

So there's my 5 cents. Carry on!

I'm just going to say that I don't think that remark was intended to be hurtful. However, once it was found to be hurtful, the proper thing to do would be to take others' feelings into consideration and gracefully apologize. (this is just my opinion though)

I think it's wonderful that you are so fulfilled by your children and by raising them. I love mine but, sometimes I feel like I've raised a small army that will rise against me at any time. *lol* But remember that just like "your kink is not my kink, but it's ok", your lifestyle does not fit everyone. Some are mothers by choice or by chance, just the same, some are not. If we all lived exactly the same, how boring this world would be.

And to stay on topic, I also do tarot card readings for pay. :)

NuevaVida, I read your post. I won't be responding to you on this thread, sorry. But I thought you'd want to know that I read what you wrote.

Thanks. It wasnt necessarily to you, but something I've been wanting to say in general for awhile. This thread sparked it.

Sorry about the "dude," too. Just kinda flowed out for emphasis.

I'm a military wife and I'm not working. Trust Me. If you saw how broke people are up here, you wouldn't want to take a job from somebody who was trying to provide for their family above the poverty line, either.

In other locations, like peppermint, I've done various things for occupations. HR, production work, machine operator, silicone wafer type stuff, and whatever comes along.
