I'm sure it will and rightfully so, but I am also hoping a good conviction will send a message too.

So would a good acquittal.

You say you carry.
This must mean you have a permit.
Do you carry open or concealed?
If concealed does this mean you are looking to kill someone?

Perhaps on this forum I may be the only one who questions the first act of violence being that of the popcorn being thrown. I'm throwing possibilities out there just as everyone else the only exception being, I'm not giving any grace to Reeves. He is the one who took a life, in my opinion unreasonably, so yes, I am going to speculate and dissect every thing.

As a gun carrier, I am very much aware when I enter an establishment on what their policies are and as a patron I abide by their policies. I don't know, call me crazy, I just call it being responsible and aware.

edited for spelling.

Interesting question: Do private establishments have the right to restrict our 2nd amendment rights?

Do public establishments. I'm betting the answer is usually no.

Yes, I have a permit and I carry concealed and tucked in right beside my permit is my PFA. Is that enough said?

This addresses your contention that Reeves carried concealed for any reason other than that is what his permit was for.
I don't know is open carry even legal in Fl?

PS
The previous was in no way intended as an attack on you, just an attempt to get you to see things more clearly.

That is an interesting question and I'm sure another topic could ensue on that subject alone.

So many people would just keel over right before my very eyes if such a thing existed "death penalty for being an asshole", LOL. But it's a great way to handle the issue of overpopulation. We could cull the herd. :)

This is what I found with a quick search:
790.053 Open carrying of weapons.—
(1) Except as otherwise provided by law and in subsection (2), it is unlawful for any person to openly carry on or about his or her person any firearm or electric weapon or device. It is not a violation of this section for a person licensed to carry a concealed firearm as provided in s. 790.06(1), and who is lawfully carrying a firearm in a concealed manner, to briefly and openly display the firearm to the ordinary sight of another person, unless the firearm is intentionally displayed in an angry or threatening manner, not in necessary self-defense.
(2) A person may openly carry, for purposes of lawful self-defense:
(a) A self-defense chemical spray.
(b) A nonlethal stun gun or dart-firing stun gun or other nonlethal electric weapon or device that is designed solely for defensive purposes.
(3) Any person violating this section commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

I can now guess that the movie theaters policy of no weapons meant just that, no weapons concealed or otherwise.

I didn't take it as a personal attack on me and I appreciate the effort in trying to make me see things more clearly on your opinion of the incident.

As I have said before, in my opinion both parties were wrong, and none of us know what was really said by who and we will never know but I will stand my position that the use of deadly force was not warranted and Mr. Reeves should pay for his actions.

And I believe that the popcorn was only the prelude or beginning of a far more serious attack as
evidenced by Mrs Oulsen attempting to pull him back.

I think the jury is still out on whether she was pulling him back or trying to protect (shield) him. Has it been stated if the bullet entered her hand from the front or back?

If I may ask you a question BamaD,
Do you believe that Michael Dunn should be acquitted?

Not that I have seen.
Initial reports said she was trying to restrain him.
One report said she was trying to shield him but that was a blatantly anti-gun site so they are going to spin against Reeves.
Even they said the theaters weapons ban was of questionable legality.

I wasn't aware that having a different view point and degree of questions equated to being pissy.

They don't. Acting like your speculations are equal to established reports does.

Don't mind Cloudboy. I think his crevices are still chapped because the New York Times doesn't impress people the way he thinks it ought to.

We caught the second installment in The Hobbit trilogy this evening, and the wife was laughing at how many text/cell phone advisories were screened through the previews. I wasn't counting, but she said there were 6.

I never said or acted as if my speculations were equal to established reports, I think there are still a lot of grey areas in those reports and I can question to fill in the if's and what's.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy the movie with your wife. See, I'm not such a pissy person after all.

Trying to shield him with her hand would be stupid.
The same motion would be the outset of an attempt to shove Reeves and help her husband in the attack, or course she will never say that so we will not know for sure.
