As someone who suffers debilitating back pain very day of her life, I doubt your is more than "anyone" can handle. Of course I also don't understand why you moved while still questioning the pain. Were you cleared by your surgeon? Regarding the tattoo, its a seriously bad idea. No one should ever tattoo their partner's name on their body. Plus you are considering this while another surgery, now in that wanted tattoo's location, is a possibility? That isn't very smart.

As a person who, 13 yrs ago did the whole "till death do us part", kids, mortgage...who NEVER for one second believed there could ever be anything that changed our relationship...I, say nothing lasts forever EXCEPT tattoos. Don't do it. When your in love and both partners are committed...yeah, seems like it will never end....Problem is...you can only speak for yourself and the other half of the dream might not have the strength or perseverance that you have.... My vote, unequivocally is HELL NO!!

The surgeon actually left the practice a few weeks after my surgery without even telling me. I was told by another doctor that he was leaving. You have no idea how much pain I'm in constantly. It makes me nauseous b/c it hurts so much. I get dizzy and my face tingles b/c it makes my blood pressure high. I can't even stay in an up right sitting position more than two hours at this point before the pain gets too bad and I'm shaking. But I'm hoping it will start getting better soon.

Gee, I must be in far more pain than you are because with the pain I have... no muther fucker is getting near my spine with a moving needle. And laying down or sitting up, you have to know it will mean more than ten minutes in the same position and for someone with severe spine pain, we know better and will not risk it because it can friggin disable us for days, weeks or months. I'm not buying it. Nor am I buying that bit about, never having a tattoo and yet knowing you can handle the pain of one, because it can't be that bad. This is all hype for attention.

Pain can make your BP rise, but not to the danger levels you claim to have. And no I diont know how bad your pain is, but neither do you know anyone elses's and that was my point. You seem to think you are suffering more pain "than anyone else could bear." I realize you don't like someone calling bullshit, but what I have seen in your few posts is that the doctors are refusing to give you narcotic pain killers, the pain management doctor insists you have tests before she will even see you, and you are in so much pain you are vomiting and can't stand for two hours (which the amount of weight you surely must be putting on your legs have nothing to do with of course). But you are not in so much pain that you wouldn't be able to sit down with your head bent to get a tattoo and have so little knowledge of getting tattoos that you figured you could lie down for it. Guess the need for the skin to be taught in the area with no wrinkles or skins folds hadn't occured to you. By all means, get the tattoo. With every thing you have said, all the reason given to you against it...that's exactly why you should do it.

Someone in serious, not even the worst back pain will have a hard time not wiggling or trying to get comfortable in any lengthy time... and ten minutes can be an eternity, especially if you are in more pain than anyone else. Even the thought of a short time being still so someone can draw on you is something you would avoid like the friggin plague. It is rather dramatic to state you are in more pain that others could bear. It is also rather interesting how you can assume so much with needles when you have had such a vast experience with the medical community and all you have been through throughout the years. To think that someone would go through all that and want to get a tattoo with all the things you have going on currently... just doesn't make sense to someone that has actually been there too. I cannot speak for you, but you are in unbearable pain and yet you wish for a bit more even for a short time and a little tattoo. I am saying that isn't reasonable anyone in that much pain would not even think about it.

Oh good grief, of course you would be not be hanging your head down. They will put you over some sort of shoulder/head rest so that your body is completely still. The worst part of the pain is when they cut the outline. I have one between my shoulder blades where I have a damaged right shoulder muscle and it did not effect that. It cuts the skin, not the muscle. Phhht.. people can get so extreme when they say no. As for the name thing, no way would I get that done. People come and go, tats stay unless you are willing to pay a LOT more money to remove them. The pain clinic doctor said that once I have the tests done she may prescribe nycynta (sp?) she did prescribe balclofen 3 times a day and some gel stuff for my legs/feet/arms/hands and gave me some patches but none of that is helping. I've seen pictures of people laying down for tattoos. And since laying down is when I'm in the least amount of pain...as long as I could move my legs every once in a while...

Narcotic pain relievers don't do much for bone pain. Where were they getting the tatoos! Location determines position. Personally MY back pain prevents me from being still in ANY position for much more than 15-20 minutes withhout pain. When people get tatoos ( I have one), the less time you can sit still, the longer it takes. Moving even your legs can cause a slip on the neck. Regardless, given your stated condition you should not even be considering it.

If you want a collar ask your master for one. Beg for it if you need to. Getting a tattoo of a collar is silly. Really silly. Get an actual collar with a lock that you don't have the key to. Do you know what's hotter to a Dom than a girl who is wearing your collar and will do anything you tell her? Nothing. The tattoo idea is a romantic gesture but also very silly. Don't do it. Especially without you master's permission.

And yes, I know at least hydrocodone didn't do as much as I thought it would. It made the pain a bit more bearable but it was still there. Aleve actually works better but I can't take it. :(

I have a collar but I can't wear it most of the time b/c I have a skin condition called Hidradenitis Suppurativa and wearing it aggravates it. :(
