Gee, I must be in far more pain than you are because with the pain I have... no muther fucker is getting near my spine with a moving needle. And laying down or sitting up, you have to know it will mean more than ten minutes in the same position and for someone with severe spine pain, we know better and will not risk it because it can friggin disable us for days, weeks or months.

I'm not buying it. Nor am I buying that bit about, never having a tattoo and yet knowing you can handle the pain of one, because it can't be that bad.

This is all hype for attention.

How could a tattoo hurt much when it's just needles? And loads of people have them. So it can't be that bad.

I do think that laying in the same position for a long period of time will be difficult but I thought they'd give you short breaks and stuff...to move a little. I had an MRI last week that took 30 minutes and it was really hard to not move but I managed with the exception of a couple times.

How can a paper cut hurt when it is so small... or a hangnail?

I have a wild and crazy idea: ask your doctor what s/he thinks.

OR

Just do what you want.
Since you seem to be arguing against those who suggest against it, why not just do what makes you happy.
(But really, why ask at all if you don't care what other people's opinions are?)

Paper cuts and hang nails don't hurt much. >.<

If you want a collar ask your master for one. Beg for it if you need to.

Getting a tattoo of a collar is silly. Really silly.

Get an actual collar with a lock that you don't have the key to.

Do you know what's hotter to a Dom than a girl who is wearing your collar and will do anything you tell her?
Nothing.

The tattoo idea is a romantic gesture but also very silly. Don't do it. Especially without you master's permission.

I have a collar but I can't wear it most of the time b/c I have a skin condition called Hidradenitis Suppurativa and wearing it aggravates it. :(

I just googled this condition. Would I get a tattoo if I had that condition alone? No. Way. In. Hell.

Now I don't really care about it anymore, but at some point I'll be paying good money to have it covered.

http://www.amazon.com/Neo-Mag-Light-Effectiveness-Testimonials/dp/B006IUHRC0

It hurts about 10x more than actually getting the tattoo, but it will get ride of it, at home, at a fraction of the cost of lasers.

If you follow the instructions to the letter -don't go longer than they suggest because you're impatient and can tolerate the pain- there will be no scars. I only have one small scars because I pushed it too far too fast.

To completely remove the tattoo it takes multiple treatments spread out over several months, but if you're covering up anyways, even a single treatment will lighten the tattoo enough (especially black ink) that cover ups become vastly easier, and you'll have way more options available.

Get a better collar...

http://www.eternitycollars.com/products/titanium-eternity-collar.html

Non allergenic with enough room to allow your skin the opportunity to breath, as well as discrete enough for work.

Why? Lots of people in my HS group have tattoos and it doesn't cause issues. Just obviously don't want to have it done in an area with an open sore. My neck area is generally clear as long as I don't have anything touching it. That's the problem with wearing collars or necklaces...anything tight against my skin causes a flare. Even bras/panties do. My back brace caused some major problems post op.

Kana -> RE: Permanent collar tattoo (2/3/2014 3:55:08 PM)

Two great rules of thumb for life:

1-No visible tattoos
2-No names

Fer crying out loud, they ain't that tough to follow.
Want something symbolic-get chains around your wrist convict style
Put a kanji for pain on the nape of your neck.
But make sure it can be covered and unseen.

That way,no matter what, you won't regret it later.

With a very familiar feel to it.

Whew! I thought it was just me thinking that.

Please tell me this isn't the sequel to Arpig 2014 with a whole new cast of characters.

It's not. If anyone has any concerns along these lines they may CMail me, but do not continue this tangent on this thread.

I'm not concerned about the pain...I know it's going to hurt but I also know I can handle it and it's likely to turn me on. LOL

DommeinRochester -> RE: Permanent collar tattoo (2/3/2014 4:04:09 PM)

For what it's worth, I have a tattoo.  I got it to honor my relationship.  I designed it myself with symbols that mean something to each of us.  No words, no names.  I also had the tattoo put on my hip.  No body's business but our's.

As the tables were full, I sat in a chair backwards.  Once they start, they do not like to stop.  I did have the option of getting the outline one day and getting it colored another day.  I opted for all at once.  As for the pain, oh sweet mama!  But once he was done, the pain stopped.  The outline was the worse.  It's a small tattoo, about 2"x2".  I want to say it took about an hour.

The heart shaped lock I want would be smaller than that. About the size of a quarter. Maybe a little bigger.

In a tattoo that size they won't be able to put a name.

In fact, run far and wide from any tattooer who offers to put a name in that small.

Because of fading, and blurring of lines when healing, as well as stretch properties of skin, there is no way to do lettering cleanly in that size.

Generally speaking letters less than 1/2 inch tall are a bad idea, and even in that size, only very straight and clean edged fonts are recommended. If you want the font to be somewhat flourished, you need to go even bigger than that.

Skin /= paper. Just because you can write it doesn't mean you can tattoo it.

A quarter size tattoo with a name in it is impossible, even fitting a single letter in a quarter size tattoo would be hard with a lot of popular fonts.

Darn. Maybe just the lock then.

Probably best. It will take the stress out of finding a Dom with the same initials as your ex.

I'm pretty sure we will be together forever. Unless he like dies or something. And if something does happen, I don't think I'll be with another man. Probably stick with girls.
