It can be diagnosed but there isn't much known about it...there are a lot of theories about what causes it and what exactly is going on but most doctors (even dermatologists) aren't even up to date on the latest research. There is no real treatment available except surgery which only helps short term.

And it took me 15 years to get a diagnosis.

They have had some great success using Humira.

Several people in my group tried it and didn't find it helpful and had really bad side effects. For a long time, they were thinking it was auto immune but most research now is pointing away from that.

Put me down in the "Bad fucking idea" column.

The best collar is the invisible one.

If your master must mark you indelibly, I am of the opinion (as you asked for it) that he should choose something elegant, personal and private.

You probably won't like this portion of my opinion, but I believe anyone who asks someone to put that much ink in that location is probably on an ego high and could probably benefit from a reality check.

I asked for it...LOL I think a heart shaped lock would be pretty on the back of my neck. :(

He actually wants me to get the WASD keys tattooed on my boobs and I've said no a zillion times. LOL I think boob tattoos are tacky.

It's especially that kind of attitude that gets you in trouble when and if the love doesn't last. But your single minded shallowness around this topic will have you end up regretting this tattoo eventually even if the relationship does last.

Personally I believe that my body is a canvas that bears with it the journey of where, and who, I've been. That includes my deliberate body mods as well as my scars and other injuries and body limitations.

Thus, despite the fact that I've ended up partially removing a tattoo, I've never regretted getting one. Instead I consider it a symbol of who I was, and the act of removing it, especially because I did it myself, is as important and meaningful to me as it was to get it done at the time and have it mark me. Of course, with me that's got to do with my Gorean background, and the symbolism attached to going from slavery to freedom.

It's my experience that most of the people who don't see their tats as a journey telling of the entirety of their person or life, but as a symbol or decoration tied to one aspect of themselves, or one person they have known, end up regretting their bodymods at some point in life. Not even necessarily because of falling out of love, but because tats change over time, and a tat that's clean, beautiful, meaningful, and crisp when you get it in your twenties will not necessarily be so a couple decades later.

Whether or not you love him, and whether or not you'll always love him, you are approaching this subject in all the wrong ways, for all the wrong motivations, from a position of total ignorance about tattoos. You WILL end up being disappointed down the line, unless you change your attitude about this.

Heavily tattooed person here.

I've been with the same person for the greater part of a decade. Never will you see his initials/name on me, or mine on him.

I have more than my fair share of friends who have been branded (sorry, but I see tattoos with an indication of a significant other as a brand), and the relationship falls apart not long after.

Not saying I believe signs, omens, coincidences, or jinxes, but....you know. [8|]

Tattoos are interesting and all, but the laser treatment to remove them when "love is forever" turns into "OMG WTF was I thinking" hurts like a motherfucker. I volunteer at a tattoo removal project and Ive seen even the most "Im so hardcore that NOTHING hurts me" people reduced to a whimpering tear soaked pile of goo. There is no way in hell Id tattoo anyone's name on my body short of my kids.

Agreeing with the other negative answers before Me, but also I'd like to add that I have one big problem with the tattoo idea: unless your Owner is a tattoo artist, the tattoo is a mark put on your body BY SOMEONE ELSE'S HAND. They laid hands on you, caused pain, and drew blood. Shouldn't that be an honor you give only to your Owner? I guess it depends what your level of devotion to Protocol and your OathBond. To some it won't matter, to others it has a lot of symbolic meaning.

I like the engraved wedding ring idea. It doesn't have to be used as an actual "wedding" ring. Put it on a different finger as someone else suggested. It's just a band wide enough to engrave on. You can choose to engrave on the inside or outside (outside will wear off eventually). Bracelets work too.

No way, that's how you get BillyBob redneck tattooing his new sub in the back of the 4-wheeler with an ink pen and a sewing needle. Your friendly neighborhood MD might draw blood and cause pain, but that doesn't mean Captain Dommy Dom Dom gets to draw the bloodwork because, "No one causes pain but me!"

I'll likely get mauled for this,but WTF. When have I really cared anywho.
Going further,I tend to think that getting visible tattoos on or about the face is hanging a "Born to Lose" sign around your neck.

Yeah,yeah,I know there's a few careers (Stripper, convict, pro skateboarder, Rapper,death metal roadie, Motorcycle mechanic) where such things are acceptable,but even then, in almost any situation where one deals with the public at all,it's gonna work against ya, big fucking time.

And it's certainly a sign that anything professional or executive level is out the window.

Not to mention that, no matter what,every single person you run across is going to judge you on it...and 95% of them are gonna be negative, many highly so.

The Mayo Clinic (a respectable source) isn't the least confused by the cause and list several medications that can be prescribed as well as using zinc as an alternative. But that doesn't matter, because your internet group is more knowledgeable, and you don't receive treatment from a dermatologist, because according to you, they don't know anything about it either.

Since it is known to occur in friction areas, typically in hair follicles and areas that perspire more, your neck is a great place for a tatoo. In your photo, there appears a crease all the way to the back around your neck, and your have no hair follicles back there, and with your hair covering the tat, no sweat issues.

Literally everyone here has told you it is a bad idea, several of us had zero difficulty finding out about your "so rare" skin condition and feel you should talk to the doctor about getting a tatoo. Which you won't do anyway. Oh and let's. Not forget that you have back pain "more severe than anyone else could handle."

Don't most dram queens wear a crown?

Yup, same here. I have a few tats that I thought I would like and would still be me years later. Yeah, I was young and dumb. Now one day when I ca afford it, I will be having them removed.
